Camera Raw in Elements 2023 Error 131

New Here ,
Dec 29, 2022 Dec 29, 2022

Had no problems with my trial version of Windows Elements 2022 and camera RAW but I've just purchased Elements and it's 2023 version.  Gone to put camera RAW on and I get error 131.  I cannot see how to get through to Adobe themselves to try and sort this issue out.

Tried closing all processes according to their help page, restarting computer, have downloaded RAW separately so I am now at a loss.

Do they have an online technical support?

Since you have already downloaded the camera raw plugin, copy the Camera Raw.8bi file to the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 21\File Formats\

You will find the file in the CC\File Formats\ directory.

For more detailed instructions see this article:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/camera-raw-update-not-available.html

If your camera's raw files work with Elements 2022, you can also copy the plug-in file from the  ... Elements 20\File Formats\ directory.

You have  some creative cloud processes in teh background keeping the update from happening.  Give this a try:

Ignore the chuck for updates at the bottom.  Just close the noted processes and try to install ACR again.
