Flattening layers results in the image turning black.

Since the last update to Photoshop cc (2019), I have been plagued with an issue of the image turning completely black when I flatten the layers, this only occurs after using any of the options under "Lighting Effects" (Filter>Render>Lighting Effects). Saving the image without flattening and then passing it back to LR results in the same thing, i.e. a completely black image.

Can anyone offer any insight into why this would be happening?

I believe there is a bug with lighting effects that Adobe is now aware. Hopefully they should get this fixed soon. I would use PS 2018 until that happens, if you need to use lighting effects.

Its not just a Lighting effects issue. I cannot make any adjustment layers. The image goes black if I flatten it or save it in PSD or JPEG. All work lost.

Many thanks Chuck! Launched PS CC 2018 and it works like a charm again.
