P: There is no image in the preview section of the project

Community Beginner ,

Hello, today, while I was working on a project in Premiere Pro, the preview image suddenly disappeared. In Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, the video preview does not open in the part where the preview screen is located. When I press the space bar, the sound of the video starting is heard, but there is no image. I searched in many places, but I could not find a solution. I deleted it and reinstalled it, it didn't work, I cleared the media cache and it didn't work, I downgraded or upgraded the version and it didn't work either. I tried and many other things but I couldn't find a solution. I am sending the screen recording as an attachment. I would be very happy if you could help me.

(my system properties
i7 13700h
gtx 4060
32 ddr5 ram
1tb ssd
The video I was working on was a very simple edit, so I don't think it was caused by a system freeze.)

Hello all, this is Thomas from Adobe engineering team. We've been investigating the issue and I’d like to share an update.

In Summary, many of you began experiencing preview issues, where audio plays but no image is displayed, after certain OS or driver updates. This problem affects both After Effects (AE) and Premiere Pro (PPro), and reverting to previous software versions does not resolve it. The issue occurs immediately upon launching the application. If you're encountering a similar issue,

Hey @Ahmet_Burak,

Take any media off OneDrive and reconnect it. Media and project files should not be associated with cloud storage. See if that works for you.

Cheers,
Kevin

The issue still hasn’t been resolved. I open Adobe, enter an existing project or create a new one, but it doesn’t matter—the video panel doesn’t display any visuals. When I try to move the panel, the screen glitching

Hi @rmedtrem - We still need more information about your system?

I believe some users have had success by navigating to Device Manager > Display adapters > Intel UHD Graphics > right click and choose update driver > browse my computer for driver > Let Me Pick > Choose Microsoft Basic Display Adapter > Next.

Let us know if this helps your issue.

I got the image by doing this, but since I’m not using my own processor, the performance and quality dropped significantly. Is there a way to solve this by using Intel?

Have the same problem on my Victus Pro 16. Talked to HP Support for 1 hour. Didn't succeed. The advise from "maicrosoft basic display' worked. but this is not sulion, but just temporary help (the display is super dark). The BIOS is up to date. Don't know what to do

I found the solution! I found the Intel driver for my Laptop, and downloaded it old version (gfx_win_101.6079_101.5736 - for me). Installed it and everything started working.

I have done a clean install of the Studio Drivers as you said. I updated my Intel Drivers, i rolled back my Intel Drivers to previous versions. I went to HP troubleshooting and installed all the required updates, even reinstalled my BIOS.

None of it works.

The solution @jamieclarke is suggesting to new people on this thread (Device Manager > Display adapters > Intel UHD Graphics > right click and choose update driver > browse my computer for driver > Let Me Pick > Choose Microsoft Basic Display Adapter > Next.) does not work. It turns your laptop into a potato. It does temporarily solve this particular problem, but adds a whole bunch of new ones. So i suggest removing that as a correct answer on this thread. Even @hshsw_3739 who posted the solution initially says it doesn't work.

BTW this problem is also present in Lightroom. It doesn't load in my pictures.

I honestly don't know where to look for solutions anymore. Aside from hoping HP or Adobe rolls out an update that magically fixes everything.

I haven't been able to edit on the laptop i bought specifically for editting for over a month now.

Rule of thumb on a Windows system:

1. update Windows patches

2. update nVidia drivers

3. reboot and open PP

With luck, everything will work...

If using a BETA release, you may need to revert to an older build until the error is fixed (new builds daily) or wait until the next day and install the latest build.

Its been awhile since the last time I checked my post.. Over a month..?

Yes, It still doesn't work for me..
Sometimes preview on my program monitor works without turn off disable one of display adapters, but export section doesn't work, I can't export my works.. (I should reopen premiere, to export my works)

Other times my program monitor doesn't works, and still need use traditional solution with disable one of display adapters.

Still not found the solution, just use temporary solution which need extra effort everytime I use premiere.

Same, still no solution. This has massively stagnated my work.

I called HP customer support and they said they can't help me with software related issues, only hardware.

I had someone from Adobe help me yesterday. They remotely connected to my laptop and tried lots of different things (rolling back different versions of Premiere, updating drivers, switching to different drivers). He helped me for 2 hrs and couldn't find a solution.

He told me to try updating my bios again (which i have already done 3 times)

I tried contacting Microsoft to help me update my bios, maybe i am doing it wrong, but i am unable to reach them (the only phone number they have connects to an AI which redirects me to their FAQ on the site which hasn't helped me).

So i am still stuck on this issue. I don't even know what caused it. Premiere worked perfectly and then one day it suddenly didn't.

I'm so desperate at this point i'm debating turning this laptop in and buying a new one.

HI @Sam25246618vkbs - Were you able to update your driver?  I saw Nvidia released a new app that can install drivers for you.  Do you have any custom scaling in your OS Display settings?
