Proxies are made in wrong format in the latest update

Instead of making proxies in Prores 422 Proxy format, it is made in Prores 4444XQ+ Alpha format.

I'm using the latest 24.2.1 Premiere and 24.2.1 Media Encoder on MacOS Sonoma 14.3

If I add files to the proxy, it will automatically add them to the media encoder as 4444XQ preset. I tried it with 2 different projects. Same problem. It renders proxy workflow useless for me. Is there a fix for it?

As a preset i'm choosing Prores Proxy at half the size

Hello,

Thanks for reporting this! I'm not able to reproduce this on my end. Hoping to understand a bit more about your workflow.

  1. Do you have any custom ingest presets installed on your machine? If you look in /Users/USERNAME/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/24.0/Profile-CREATIVE_CLOUD_USERNAME/Settings/Ingest Presets/, are there any .epr files there?
  2. How are you creating proxies? Right click>Proxy>Create Proxies or via ingest settings set in File>Project Settings>Ingest Settings?
  3. Do you see this in a new project? Or are these projects that were created in a previous version of Premiere?
  4. If you right click on one of the clips where this has happened and go to "Properties," can you paste the output here? Feel free to obscure or remove pathname/filenames that might have personally identifiable info.
  5. Finally, does this still happen if you reset your preferences? Note that this will wipe out things like your keyboard shortcuts, so please be sure to back those up if you try this.

Thanks again!

- David
