Weird keyboard behavior

Last few days I have started to notice strange things when I use the 'save as' in PP - the forward delete key on my keyboard has become an 'enter' or return key. For example if I type a project name and try to forward delete a character the 'save' button is activated.

this is only happening on one workstation in our facility - I have tried everything to fix this to no avail. Machine is a 2019 iMac, 128g ram 1tb ssd, PP v22.6.4 ... the keyboard functions as it should in the Title window and in apps outside PP it just won't forward delete when typing character in the save as window which is a bit unsettling.

I have reset prefs - installed a newer version of premiere (we need to stay on V22 due to several editors working on the main project) I have removed my keyboard shortcuts and still this problem persists with the adobe default shortcuts.

Since a few updates back (now on 24.5.0) the mac forward delete key doesn't work when saving files and changing the file name.  The forward delete key works fine when renaming a sequence or bin in Premiere.  Mac studio M1 / Apple magic keyboard

Thank you.  I don't understand how changing a keyboard would make a difference since...it's not the keyboard.

The 'delete' key is not working when typing filename to export/save video. The backspace key works fine - I'm having trouble with the 'delete' key which deletes letters before the cursor. When I go to type in a filename in the export browser, my delete key just does not work. I thought this might be a mac issue, but the delete key works when saving files from other applications on my computer.

I'm on Mac Studio M1 Max

OS Sonoma 14.5
