Adobe Premier Pro v23 on Mac - Audio track out of sync with video on 2nd video imported for merging

Hello,

Am attempting to merge 2 videos which are pretty much identical (except for file size) as they came from same source and recorded with identical parameters. However, am consistently running into a problem with the 2nd video imported getting its audio track out of sync with its video!

This is serverly impacting my work... please help (asap) ...very much suspect this is an Premier Pro issue.

Thanks.

I'd check to see if the video was recorded with a variable frame rate and if so convert it to a fixed or constant frame rate with the free app Handbrake.

Thanks for the suggestion Rob. However...

1. On a Mac, how do I check if the video is VFR or CFR?  QuickTime states 'Encoded FPS: 25' but does not state the type.

2. Thought this was an age old issue with importing VFS videos in Adobe Premier Pro that was resolved 2-3 years ago... is that not the case?

3. Handbrake is available only for the 'Win xx' environment so need an equivalent solution for the Mac; this also begs the question - how do I ensure I will not loose video quality in the conversion process?

4. The  project entails working with a large no. of MTS format video files so an additional step to convert each file from VFR to CFR appears to be a huge overhead on the entire  project.

Sorry for the lengthy message and more questions.

Thanks
