CAN'T Edit Caption style in Latest Premiere Pro 25.0

Community Beginner ,
Oct 17, 2024 Oct 17, 2024

I just updated the 2025 version. I imported the .srt file and found that the panel for adjusting subtitles in Previous Essential Graphic disappeared. I couldn’t find any settings to change the subtitle font, color, and size in the New " Graphic Template " Panel .

Does anyone know where to find it?

I confirm that nothing can be changed when creating a subtitle string

Either I am stupid or it simply does not help with the problem:

Where exactly does the new properties panel give me any option to edit the subtitle style. I need to burn in some subtitles in specific formatting, fonts and colors. How do I do that?

Agreed. This is an absolute deal breaker for me. Currently finding other software.

Select your subtitles in the timeline and the Properties panel will give you all the options.

You have captions, I have subtitles. How do I turn my subtitles into captions?

Screenshot shows subtitles.

If you are using graphics as subtitles?

Same scenario.

Changing graphics to captions is a different question: have no idea.

This is how it looks for me (thought there maybe a difference between subtitles and captions)

I was struggling with this too, nothing at all in the properties panel for subtitle clips. What fixed it for me was a File > Save a Copy. Now the new file and the original are suddenly showing the subtitles properties panel correctly.

I can confirm this work for me, after copying my project I was able to edit captions on the 'Properties' window, much appreciated. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

This worked for me too! You just have to then highlight the caption in the text panel, not click on the subtitle on the video and then edit in the properties panel. How odd!

Do you, or does anyone, know whether we still have the ability to edit multiple subtitles simultaneously in Premiere Pro 25? I'm able to access "properties" and edit by double-clicking one subtitle, but it's not allowing me to select all subtitles and double-click to open properties. To be clear, I can select all subtitles, but I can't open properties and make the same changes to font size, style, etc. all at once like I used to. The thought of having to make these edits one subtitle at a time would be awful!

Always so many bugs like this in Adobe software that drive you crazy. Edit v1 was able to format the caption fine. V2 had to add a drop shadow in and now the settings can't be found. Figuring out bugs like this over the years has probably cost my employer thousands. Dynamic link was the only thing keeping us with Adobe and that's been falling apart on another edit too. So moving to Resolve at the start of the new year.

I've had it with PP.  I have seemingly NO control over font size and how my cpations appear on screen so they look as I want them.  I'm an adult, not three years old. I hate what this company has done with my money, and how it's trashed Premiere Pro; can't wait toi ditch Adobe as soon as I can.  It's become unworkable.
