FIXED: Export issue for H.264 and HEVC with Premiere Pro 23.1

This issue has been fixed in Premiere Pro version 23.2.  Please update to get the fix.

We have identified a file name issue affecting H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports on Windows with Premiere Pro 23.1

The issue impacts H.264 and HEVC/H.265 exports to folders with names that use double-byte characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or extended ASCII characters, like accents and umlauts. Affected users will see this message: File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of %filename.mp4%. Reading and writing this file’s metadata (XMP) has been disabled.

If you are experiencing this issue, use one of these options:

• Please update to version 23.2 where the issue is fixed
• The following workarounds are for 23.1
  • Choose an export destination folder that uses only single-byte ASCII English characters (no accents, umlauts, etc.)
  • Export to a different format, such as Apple ProRes.
  • For H.264 exports only: disable hardware-accelerated encoding.

I work around this problem by saving the output mp4 (h.264) file in a different folder than where the Premiere project file is saved.

Even though I use Portuguese characters in the file name and hardware acceleration, the file is exported correctly.

So in my case, I can't export the mp4 file in the same folder as the Premiere project file.

This is happening to me and I only use English characters. How can I fix this?

When exporting videos, use "software encoding" instead of hardware encoding.
It worked well for me and solved all my problems.

Thank you for your suggestion Antonio.

After watching a recent YouTube video I did choose 'software encoding'. However, I've installed an earlier version of Premier Pro and that version is working for me. I won't up update Premier Pro until this issue is resolved in a future update. 

I'm also doing some online learning to figure out all the basics to get my head around the jargon and features available in Premier Pro.

Thanks for the information. Since yesterday it troubled me so much, I couldn't find the solution until now. It worked just by exporting to a new directory with a name with only English characters.

I had the same problem with folders with accents in Portuguese. It was enough to remove the accents from the folders and it solved it.

Já temos quase 1 mês do lançamento desta versão e até agora não há nenhuma correção disponível? Há alguma previsão? Não quero fazer downgrade nem desabilitar a aceleração de hardware. A solução que encontrei foi salvar os arquivos na raíz do disco, numerados, e depois recortar e renomear.

Hola 

el problema no era por estar usando caracteres de doble bytes, de hecho yo uso el español como escritura y nouso acentos. Existe un problema con la ruta de exportación, te explico: yo uso un disco externo donde tengo el proyecto completo y las exportaciones las envio a una carpeta en ese disco, carpeta exclusiva para las exportaciones. En un proyecto la reconce bien y exporta bien, en una segunda exportación del mismo proyecto pero donde cambio el formtato (otra línea de tiempo) no lo exporta, y sqale el mensaje: 

El importador de archivos detectó una incoherencia en la estructura de archivos de %filename.mp4%. Se ha deshabilitado la lectura y escritura de los metadatos de este archivo (XMP).

La solución fue muy extraña (te la comento para que busquen una solución más concreta). Para poder exportar el archivo tube que cambiar el destino de mi disco externo a el escritorio y pude exportar el video que necesitaba. 

La solución no es la ideal pero funciona. Lo probe con otros proyectos que me pasaba lo mismo y en todos funcino, como solución rapida para salir del apuro funciona pero no es lo ideal, me pase mas de 3 horas tratando de exportar el archivo y no funcionaba nada, solo al probar algo tan simple como exportar al escritorio funciono. 

Espero puedan ocupar esta información y dar una pronta solución, gracias.

Hola! Esta es la solución que encontré. Primero con la versión 23 abrí el proyecto (que ya había sido trabajado en esa versión) y lo guardé como una versión anterior. Luego, ese proyecto nuevo (copia del original) lo pude abrir en la versión 22 y ahí trabajar como siempre.
Igualmente hoy estuve hablando con soporte y me dijeron que el error se da cuando el proyecto (y la exportadación) no están alojados en el disco del sistema. Lo que me parece que Adobe debería corregir.

La captura corresponde a la versión 22, pero en la nueva funciona de la misma manera.

How can it takes more than a month to fix this ENORMOUS bug ? (And even : how can that kind of bug happen ?) 
My Dropbox root folder is name after my name (Stéphane) and I use Premiere to WORK, so I dont want a workaround using software rendering.
Dont ask why people are moving to Resolve ...

Incrível o descaso da Adobe com o problema. Gastamos dinheiro assinando o software e há quase 2 meses não podemos utilizar a versão mais atual porque ainda não resolveram o problema. Agora, experimente atrasar o pagamento para ver o que acontece...
