Frames glitching in Premiere Pro while raw footage is fine

Good morning all!

I've been working on a project in Premiere Pro 15.4 and when I import my video file, there are areas of the video where a glitch occurs.  This isn't seen in the raw footage/file.  Any thoughts?  It occurs when I playback in Premiere Pro and in exports.

Apologies if this is a redundant question; first time posting/here!

Hi @Harbour Media ,

This is fixed in the beta builds.  Please download the latest Premiere Pro Beta build from Creative Cloud --> Beta apps --> Premiere Pro (Beta)

https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/creative-cloud-public-beta.html

Please let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks,
Mayjain

I have the same issue whether be on a SSD drive or on a NVME drive same
issues as before even with proxy files... btw, enabling v-sync on nvidia 3D
settings fixes the issue of frames glitching.

Hell, i've been struggling a lot too, hope if you could share some recomendations about other products you mention to help end our pain :'), thanks. And well, for the adobe team, if it is usefull to others, i had to download different old versions of Premiere until the footage stoped glitching (Yes, in a new proyect, lost every progress) I recommend to use Premiere 14.2 for a while :')

Hey! Yeah, for sure man. I feel that pain. If you were to try to cost out the amount of time I've lost to crashes/failures trying to edit my A7siii footage in Premiere over the last few months, it would be a devastating number. I'm over it.

If you're on M1 hardware, FCPX is just an all around better experience. Look up some YouTube videos for "transitioning from Premiere Pro to Final Cut" and there are some great videos that help you migrate your skills over. I'm like 60% of my editing speed in Final Cut but I'm getting there and the lack of crashing and overall performance boost is just night and day. Not a single crash, no frame drops - it's a game changing experience.

Hi All. I am experiencing the same issue and have also downloaded and installed the latest bet as of Oct 18, 2021. Same thing. In the timeline, unrendered plays back smoothly. To specify:

1. Camera: Canon 5d Mark IV

2. Format: All-I 23.976 FHD 1080

3. 2020 MacBook Pro, Apple M1 Chip

4. macOS Big Sur 11.6

5. Original .MOV file plays glitch free

6. Adobe Premiere Pro beta - plays smoothly in preview window

7. Adobe Premiere Pro beta - plays smoothly unrendered in the timeline

8. Adobe Premiere Pro beta - glitches when rendered in timeline

9. Adobe Premiere Pro beta - glitches in the exported H.264 file

This is still an issue for me with the latest beta build of 22.1.1. It isn't an issue with ALL-IPB footage. Glitches only appear in timeline when rendered and exported using ALL-I format. Source footage is clean. No glitches. Any updates @mayjain ?

Hi Mayjain,

Hope you are well. Double-checking to see if a solution has been found.
We'd really like to avoid having to go through and redo a full three days
of shooting because of the glitching.

Thank you!

Chris

Hi @C. MEEK ,

I checked this and seems like the problem is with the media itself, that too with 73rd frame. The media is I-Frame only.

  • VLC player gets stuck in between while playing this media.
  • Quicktime Player playbacks this media, but it fails to decode the 73rd frame and replaces this frame with the last decoded frame.

We are still discussing how this glitch can be avoided in Premiere Pro.

Thanks,
Mayjain

Hi @C. MEEK ,

You can try the latest beta build. This is fixed so you won't see any glitch on the source monitor now. Let me know if you still face any issues.

Thanks,
Mayjain

Hey I was having the same issue. I was editing from my SD card and it was giving the same problem. Try transferring the files to an SSD first then import the files into premiere pro. Once thats done create new proxies  from those files you just imported and that should fix that problem. That fixed my problem.
