Help! I was advised to shoot all of my b-roll footage in 60fps! The final project will be in 24fps!

I shot all of my b-roll in 60fps as advised so that I could use some of it for slow motion. The final project though will be exported in 24fps. Can I convert my 60fps footage to 24fps and it still look good? How do I do this?

If you simply put the 60p clips into a 24p timeline, Premiere will play them as 24p without any modifications. However....

The issue is that the 24 frames are pulled from the 60fps clip, throwing away 36 frames per second, and not in a row either - there will be gaps - therefore the "cadence" will not look the same as if the footage was actually shot at 24fps. As Jim mentioned, shutter speed is faster with 60p than 24p so that also changes "the look".

Thanks

Jeff

I'm not a fan of this work flow.  Decisions about real time or slow motion should be made when shooting, not in post.  Shutter speed makes a difference here.

Still, it can be done.
