I have been testing the Media Intelligence with "Visual Search" on both Premiere Pro Beta and production version 25.2 since December 2024. The visual search functionality just does not work at all for me. I've tried virtually every variation of configuration of the Media Intelligence & Transcription settings. Everything works for transcription and the media search finds transcribed material in the clips without problem. The Media Intelligence Analysis appears to properly analyze each clip in the project. But the visual search never returns any results whatsoever. I've tried a wide variety of content in my test clips. I've also tried various types of searches including simple and detailed, obvious and less obvious. The search never returns any results from visuals, not even once.
Please help.
I am running premiere pro on a Microsoft Surface 7, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30GHz 1.50 GHz, RAM 16.0 GB (15.6 GB usable), 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

Hi @gcg74055244,
Thanks for the message and welcome to the forum. I appreciate the information you sent in so far. Tell us, though, what kind of media this is. The more detail you can give us, the better. Uploading a sample clip would also be helpful, so we can test on this end. I hope we can help you. Sorry for the trouble.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thank you for reaching out to us.
In the creative cloud desktop app - go to Apps - Premiere Pro - "..." menu -> Get Addons
Please verify that the "media intelligence" Addon is correctly installed there or choose to re-install it from there.
If this is installed correctly, please check if you see any entries in your "progress" window when you e.g. drag new media into your project and if their analysis completes successfully. You should also see a new companion file next to your project file ending in ".prin", these contain the visual information that is used by the search.
Best regards,
Alexander

Thank you. Yes, I have the media intelligence add-on correctly added (for both Premiere Pro 25 and Premiere Pro Beta). There is no option to remove or re-install the add-on (see attached for the add-ons). I am also attaching my media intelligence preference settings.
Also yes, when I add new media, it shows that it is being processed properly. See progress window, during and after.

Thank you for the details - it looks like you are fully setup.
Which search query did you use? i just tried the screenshot you posted as an example:
make sure you are actually using the new search panel instead of the project panel search (via the header bar icon or via window -> search)

Thanks. Using the test clip I just uploaded in reply to Kevin-Monahan, I tried the same search you did. As you can see from the screenshot below, it returns no results.

Thank you for your reply. I am attaching a sample clip you can test. As you can see from my screenshot, when I test the visual search against this clip, after media intelligence processing, the search returns no results. I have tried many searches on this test clip, for example:
train leaving station on sunny day
mountain scene with blue sky and clouds
camera panning mountains in distance
girl riding bicycle down street
church on sunny day
people walking in town square
people walking with church in background
I have also tried many simpler searches of only 1 or 2 words, without any results.
Many thanks for your assistance!

Thank you for the example file! i just tested it here and it worked as expected:
This means there is something in your system that prevents the search from operating correctly. Let us dig a bit deeper, do you see the .prin file next to your project file after you save? What is the size of that file?
If you are on windows - make sure to update your GPU driver (Nvidia studio drivers / Intel GPU drivers / AMD GPU drivers) - also do not use windows update to update drivers, as it is known to actually down-grade into known broken versions.

Thank you Alexander,
I have now updated the GPU driver directly from the Intel website. I am running Windows 11 Pro. See attached screenshots for information on the updated driver.
After updating the driver, I deleted the previous .prin file, and the media cache. Then I rebooted the computer and started Premiere Pro 25. Opening the test project, the Media Intelligence re-ran as normal. Following that, I tried the Visual Search on the project, with no success. You can see the status of the project, the .prin file, and the media cache in the attached screenshots.
Is there any known problem with running this functionality with the Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics?
Many thanks for your continued help.
-Gary

This means that the index is created successfully - now we need to rule out if the index is also valid.
Could you attach the created prin file for your provided sample clip?
We dont have the exact model of your GPU available here to test against - the only known problem affects old driver versions of Intel GPUs in general - but there might be specific issues to your model which we might need to triage.
