PP CC mp4 output, audio won't play in Quicktime, but plays fine in VLC and IINA

It's there in the file (I checked by reimporting).

So is this a Premiere problem or a Quicktime problem? I'm looking for the right place to tackle this.

Hi Sean Kernan,

We're sorry about the poor experience. Are you using the latest version of Premiere Pro? We're currently investigating a similar issue with the latest version of Premiere Pro. For the time being, please use VLC or other media players to play the mp4 file exported from Premiere Pro.

This may or may nto be sueful to you. I uploaded an ap4 file that wouldn't play audio in quicktime yo vimeo, then downloaded it again. The audio plays fine.

Many, if not most, clinets use quicktime, but I can't send out files that may not play for them, and I can't insist that they use some software other than what they rely on.
