PP2025 Not Relinking Files

I was just trying to relink hundreds of files from a drive with the same file structure and file names. Usually after linking 1 it will relink them all as I have that box checked to automatically re-link. It did not automatically re-link any of the others and I had to do it 1 by 1. I tried to select all of the clips in the missing media window but then the "Locate" button greys out and can't be clicked. This has to be a bug, I've never had problems with this in past versions.

I'm on M3 Macbook Pro with OS 15.0.1

Hi @TFitness,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the report. What kind of media are you using? Is it card-based media? If so, have you tried importing the entire folder structure via Media Browser or some other import method? Let us know please. See, How do I write a bug report?

I hope the team will respond soon. Sorry about this!

Thanks,
Kevin

I have similar issue as yours!

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/quot-relink-other-automatically-quot-doesn-t-work-u...

My workaround as of now is to uncheck the 'file extension' option on the bottom left, and it will automatically relink other files as usual. I am using a Windows PC at the moment, so I am not sure if this workaround works on mac machines.

I have the same issue.

This is another one of those Premiere glitches that requires the user community to come up with BS workarounds that are purely trial and error and make absolutely zero sense.

These are files that sit on a hard drive and work totally fine in earlier versions of a project - the issue is the latest PP update.

Can you please listen to the hundreds of people who experience these problems and stop asking us daft questions like we are newbies who have never used the programme before.

Its enraging.

Hi @Kevin-Monahan ,

They're being read from an external hard drive hooked up via USB. I would just import it all but the files were already part of many other sequences from when they were local on my hard drive but I offloaded them to an external to free up space while the project was inactive. Now I'm just trying to re-link to make some changes.

@nana36722464ffx2 Thanks for the tip! I'll try that if I need to re-link again. But hopefully the issue will be fixed by then.

Where is the "Search" button that is present in PrPro 2024 when you Link footage? In PrPro 2025 it opens up MacOS finder instead... I have to relink all of the footage by hand, its just not an option. If this function is removed i cant simply upgrade to 2025, just relinking files manually would take the whole workday.

Premiere Pro search button i 2024. In PrPro 2025 its not there?
