Premiere lagging after changing any of the original configuration

My Premiere was super laggy and I reset it to the original configuration.
The problem was solved, but now if I try to change ANY settings on the settings panel, I get the lag back.
I saw anything like it, and can't find anyone with a similar problem,

I don't know if it is a bug or I'm just the unluckiest person in the world...or if it is just Adobe Products being Adobe Products.

Please, help...

Hi,

This is kind of odd. Have you tried any troubleshooting, like resetting preferences? You can press Shift at launch for the Reset Options dialog box. From there, you can reset preferences. See if that might help. If not, you may need to trash your Documents > Adobe > Premiere Pro > 23.0 > Profile-[your name] > Layouts folder. You'd need to recreate any custom layouts. The stock ones rebuild when you relaunch. If that still doesn't work, you might have to reinstall the application. I hope the advice helps. Let us know if you need help with anything.

Thanks,
Kevin

I KIND found a solution...I don't know why, but...If I open Premiere and go to "Open Project" instead of double-clicking on the project on the Mac folder...the problem disappears.

I have no idea why that happens, but...it works.

Hi @Jessica27308172ziwp,

Thanks for the message. You say you are having performance issues after changing Preferences. Right? Perhaps it has to do with your custom dual screen workspace. If you choose one of the stock (single-screen)  workspaces, do you have the same problem? Let the community know. I hope we can help you figure this one out.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hello, @Kevin-Monahan
Thank you for your answer, I happened to experience a problem like what you described. When I'm in dual-screen monitor mode, my Premiere Pro will lag a lot even though the GPU and CPU usage in the task manager is not too high. but when in single-screen mode the problem goes away.
Specifications that I use:

Adobe premiere pro 2022
Ryzen 5 5600G, GTX 1660 ti, NVME 2tb, RAM 16gb 3600Mhz.

Is there a solution to keep my premiere running smoothly in dual-screen mode? should I upgrade my processor or VGA?

Hey there @Naf alfath,

Thanks for the detaiiled notes. My take is that editors can sometimes set up a dual screen workspace with the panels slightly overlapping. Even a single pixel of overlap can cause issues. Can you check that out? Since it works with a single screen, I think that could be your issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver).

I have a Mac Studio M1 Max, I don't know if I can update drivers outside of the OS updates on a Mac.

Sorry, I missed that it was a Mac in the video.
