Premiere Pro would not allow me to insert more pictures and video in any project i try to work on.

Hi, was working on one of my project. suddenly i could'nt insert more pictures and videoes in the timeline. The mousecursor shows a "parking not allowed sign" Now the same happens in all my previous project when i tried them out. Whats wrong?

This is not normal and deleting the Preferences did not fix it.

 

In those cases un-installing Premiere Pro and re-start the computer and the re-install Premiere Pro is often the way to go.

Did'nt work well. Can insert video, but not moving it around and the video is lagging when i play it. This is new.

I thought so and i could insert anything into the timeline when i tried to reproduce it when i had the Ref. monitor open. Had actually forgot about the playback issues with the Ref. monitor open. (getting older...)

 

He has already uninstalled/reinstalled, but it seems like it´s worth taking it a step further: Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation issues

I got a solution on my last problem with lagging.

In Audio Hardware the default input was set to my webcam that i don’t use. Set it to No input and the it was ok!

Ah I did not pay attention: this is the media browser.

FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.

and/or make new project and import this one.

It did'nt help much. When i tried to open my project again, i could not find it where all the other earlier project was stored. Find it in the auto-save map, but it was the same problem. Has experience that the PR stops a lot lately, ant that its a prefix after the projectname in the path.

Is there a reason for that?

Tried to start a new project and that seems to go well, but the video was lagging. Has'nt experiece that before.

Prefix means changes have been made since the last save.

As soon as you save the prefix disappears.

The video was made just for to show the cursorstatus. I have tried to set in both pictures and video in V1 with source patching active.

You didn't have an audio source patch active, and your dragging at the end was into the audio area.

 

You need both an audio and video source target set. As Ann said ...

Most common user error is not source patching the track.
Solved by first opening clip in Source Monitor, set in and out point. Then drag/insert into timeline.
