slow motion

hello

trying to slow down footage 1920x1080 50p

my project is 25p so should have no problem ..

but as soon as i g lower than 90%..i can see the typycal not fluid slow down..the steps..

what can be the problem?

You might try time remapping instead.

Also, if you have After Effects, you may want use it instead and see if you get better results.

i don tknow of remapping.is it  a plugin of pp?

could try ae but i need to apply to more than a few little clips..seems long workflow...

also i have check the interpolation...it looks the same thing of duration..i only add possibility to work in graphic way and keyframe..but the engine is the same!

Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing when you adjust the speed of the clip?

i am realizing that i have made this check on my laptop which is still with 2015

but id don t remember that option on my desktop 2017..i ll check tomorrow

Yes, check that -  I don't remember when optical flow was added to the dialog box.

ok 2017 has that option..in fact seems that using the optical flow seems better

Optical Flow is an algorithm for creating new frames and it's slow to play back and needs to be rendered. You have 50p footage in a 25p timeline, you shouldn't need to use Optical Flow or Frame Blending.

Can you describe what you're seeing a little better? Is it jumpy? Perhaps you just need to render that part of your timeline. Also, what happens when you export just a part of your timeline when you slow the clip down to 50%?

Alternatively, you can interpret the entire clip's frame rate at 25p instead of 50p. In the Project panel Right Clip>Modify>Interpret footage and click the "Assume this frame rate:" radio button and change it to 25. Now the Media Duration metadata field will read twice as long as the original clip's length (you can make a copy of the clip before you modify the frame rate to see this) and you'll know that you're getting proper slow motion.

it s a bit jumpy yes, and also is rendered..i can tell this from final export

Remove those clips from the sequence.  In the bin, right click on those clips and select Modify>Interpret Footage...  From there, change the frame rate to 25.

Add the clips to the sequence again.  You will get perfect slow motion.
