Synchronize->Clip Marker grayed out

I'm running Premier Pro 2020 on a Windows 10 machine.

I placed markers on two clips.  I select all, right click, select Synchronize, but the Clip Marker option is grayed out.

I assume I'm missing something simple.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You need to set markers on the clips.

Open clip in source monitor and hit M this will place a clip marker on the clip. Do the same for the second clip.

Markers should be unnamed.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I've tried named and unnamed, but get the same result.
I've attached a screen shot if that helps.SyncClipsScreenshot.jpg

I see sequence markers on the timeline but no clip markers on the clips.

I'm sensing there's a difference between Sequence Markers and Clip Markers.
I played each clip and hit "M" at the point where I wanted to synchronize.
What do I need to do to create the clip marker?
That must be what I'm doing wrong.

I think I figured it out - thanks in large part to your comment.
I opened each clip in the Source window, played it there, and hit "M" at the key point.

I now have Clip Markers appearing and Synchronize->Clip Marker is not gray.

Thanks so much!
