Hello!
I am working in Premiere CC 2017 11.1.1
Editing a feature length documentary. The sound mixer has requested an EDL for each audio track. I run into this error when exporting EDL "The maximum EDL event limit (999) for CMX 3600 has been exceeded". From what I've read, it seems this limitation was created when everyone worked in reels. The audio house requested one master timeline (not reels). Is there a work around for this, when trying to export EDL for 1 sequence?
Yes that is correct. You may even want to give them some overlap - like the first EDL is 1:00:00:00 to 1:20:00:00 and the second is 01:19:00:00 to 01:40:00:00 - see what they want.
The reason I asked about wanting an EDL is unless you entered unique reel numbers for each camera source you loaded, the EDL is not really all that helpful. Especially when compared to the data contained in an AAF or OMF transfer.
But the main thing is to give them what they want - I'd confirm what you are a planning to

Yes, export the sequence in sections. An EDL for part 1, and EDL for part 2, etc.
Make sure when you divide up the sequence into sections, you maintain the correct master timecode for each section.
Out of curiosity, did your sound engineer say why the EDL is needed?

Thank you. They also requested an AAF, which I delivered for the entire master sequence. If I deliver EDLs in reels, will they even be able to work with that, given they are working from AAF files generated from a master sequence?

oh, I think I understand what you meant now. So, if I deliver part 1 starting at 01:00:00:00--01:20:00:00. Then the second EDL should start at 01:20:00:01? Please excuse my beginner questions-- I'm learning!
