The new audio effects (enhance speech) in Premiere don't translate to Audition

Hello,

I have just been editing a trailer in Premiere 24.3.0 and applied the new Enhance Speech feature to several clips, as I'm using rough production audio. However, when I transfer the audio to Audition for a mix, those effects do not come across; so my Audition mix is fairly useless.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any replies - David

It looks like Audition does not yet support Enhance Speech in the Essential Sound Panel. I would recommend rendering the effect before sending it to Audition (right-click clip > Render and Replace).

The easiest way to open a sequence in Audition is to do it directly through Audition: File > Open, choose your .prproj file and then select the sequence you want to open.

I just discovered there is a new dropdown feature when exporting to Audition - where it says Audio Clip Effects, there is a selection for Render Clips with non-transferable Effects! I selected that, and...my dialogue tracks magically sounded the same in Audition from where I had been using them in Premiere, with the Enhance Speech filter applied. Yay!

Which method did you use for transferring to Audition?

I just right clicked on the sequence in Premiere and selected Edit in Adobe Audition. Thanks.

That's the fairly "minor" process of the two. I'm not at the computer, will be later. I think the other is something like "open in Audition" ... and my recollection (not guaranteed 100% accurate) is that is a more expansive process.

And might carry over effects better.

Thanks for your reply - but I don't see an "Open in Audition" option. Where would that be?

Normally right-click the audio clip. Or with it selected, the File menu.

Hi - thanks again for your reply. Unfortunately, right-clicking on the sequence only comes up with the "Edit in Audition" option, and when I have the sequence highlighted and go to the File menu, I don't see an option for "Open in Audition."

Wow, they've changed that ... there were two options, open in Audition, and send to Audition. But they removed the other option. I certainly missed that change!

Huh.

@Matt_Stegner  ... assistance or ideas?

Premiere has not changed anything here for a very long time.  "Open in Premiere" is not the correct terminology, it is "Edit" everywhere it is referenced in Premiere.

Audition does not have Enhanced Speech functionality, so when you send a sequence to Audition it must reference the original file.

Okay, that answers that - thanks. Pretty silly to have an audio feature in the editing app that isn't transferable to the audio mixing app! I guess it's time for a serious feature request...
