Why can't I right click on my files in the project area/bins in the new Premiere Pro CC 2015?

I recently updated my premiere to the newest version (2015.1 Release; Adobe Premiere Pro CC v9.1).

Since updating, I haven't been able to right click on my sequence files in my project area. I'm able to right click on the clips and other files, but not the sequences.

I use right click on the sequences to quickly duplicate the sequence in order to save previous versions of my edits.

I can still duplicate by selecting the sequence and then going to Edit > Duplicate....but right clicking is just so much more convenient and useful while I'm editing.

Is there a specific reason why right clicking is no longer available on sequence files in Premiere projects?

I just came across that problem as well where i could not right click on any clips in my timeline.

What worked for me was to change / reset my workspace.

Seems to work fine now.

If using a bluetooth mouse have you checked in System preferences that the 'right-click' option is ticked, obvious but it worked for me.

It's because there is no In Point selected on the sequence.

Go to the sequence in question and you'll see there is no in point.

Add an in point.

The "right click, duplicate" function should work now.

I'm seeing a lot of work arounds here that require a lot of trouble shooting. Copying and pasting into new sequences, restarting computers, updating adobe, resetting workspaces, and on and on the list goes. Here's what I've always done when this bug ends up showing up: using the command key for right clicking: ctrl+mouse click. This has worked for me 100% of the time and usually saves me the bother of troubleshooting.

Hi All,

I had exactly this issue and think I have gotten to the bottom of it.

It seems that Prem CC sometimes gets confused by dual or triple displays. After restarting Premiere this issue started occurring for me, when right clicking nothing would appear.

By pure chance I then right clicked on one of the project sequence tabs and I noticed that the options did pop up, only on the other screen over my Preview tab.

FIX:

To Fix tis is simply dragged the sequence area over to the other screen and then back again and boom! everything works once again.

Hope this helps.

Just updated CC and suddenly I was having the same issue... Clearing In/Out used to work for me, but earlier today that "solution" just stopped working. I think multiple monitors definitely have something to do with it (I have 3 monitors)...

MY SOLUTION: I reset my workspace to "All Panels" and dragged all of it from one screen to another. Suddenly right click worked. I rest my workspace to my custom saved layout and bam, no more problems!

good luck everyone.

Thank you! We have three machines and all of them were having the no-right-click issue. Resetting the workspace fixed it.

I'm still having this issue in v9.2.0 (41). Can't right click items in my project manager and dragging clips into the timeline causes the program to hang. Clearing in/out points does fix the issue.

Just wasted a half an hour trying to figure out what I was doing wrong - clearing In and Out took care of it. Please fix!

Clearing sequence i/out points didn't work for me but changing the layout did. Thanks!

Happening again for me on Win7. I submitted a bug report a month ago, should I submit another?

However, adding an in/out point and then clearing it in the timeline did resolve the issue, so thanks for that workaround in the meantime!

Clear your in and outs on the sequence.  Seems to work for a lot of people.  Per the post above Adobe has identified the issue and is working on it.
