Project manager (PM)is one of those tools that doesn't get a lot of press. No big features or snazzy AI tools. It is however crucial for my work when packaging a project for later use or collaboration. PM also seems to work fine for small projects.
When project get large however, PM seems to break down. When attempting to package large projects, PM churns for days, and then just pops an error of not being able to copy some random file, and stops. No options to continue, no detauils as to why, it just quits. Days of waiting wasted, and no idea why or what to do about it.
When i go look for the file in question, it's there in the timeline and elsewise. No errors in the project and no other problems. Just with PM. Part of the problem also is that PM gives to updates like other parts of Premiere do. Yes you have a simplistic progress bar (without even a percentage to refer to) that you might say "ah ha! it quits at 42%" or "It always quits after 12 hrs" but also no log or diagnostics I can find.
I have done everything I can think of outside Premiere. the PC is healthy as are the drives. Drives are all alive and don't sleep. No other applications running. Disk usage, Processor, Ram, etc. are also all well within usage range. Even checked various projects. Small projects work. Large projects run for days and quit. I am at my wits end.
Please make this tool useful for large projects. Both functionally so it doesn't just stop, but rather gives options of how to proceed with a failed file etc. but also with a better UI and diagnostic features and tools to be able to see what is happening.
As it is now, I can't package feature films with the tool, making what you have unuseable.
