XMP metadata

I have some XMP metadata embedded in an MOV file with a description of the shot.

I tried using the Media Browser panel and the import tab in Premiere Pro to search for my video library using the words from this description but it returned no results.

Search using metadata only works after importing the file into the project, within the Project panel.

IMO this should be a basic feature of the Media Broswser panel. That way I could use XMP metadata to create a video library that I could browser directly inside premiere and seamlessly import that footage into my project.

I don't use XMP metadata, but this suggestion made me think...is there capability to search in Media Browser for any details besides file name? Media Browser could definitely be more robust than it is currently.
