How can i combine -losslessly- multiple .dv (or .mov) files from a mini dv capture? I dont wish the produced file to be reencoded. I just want to combine all of my .dv (or .mov) files to one... how can i do it in Premiere CC 2017?

Can someone plz guide me, by telling me the steps i must take at the export command, in order to create a .dv or .mov video file? Plz note i will have placed .dv files in the Timeline. I dont want any reencoding to occur, im only wrapping them up.

Still dont know which OS and Pr build you are using.

Can you import .dv file and put it on the timeline?

But you cannot export to .dv

you cannot combine mov and avi into one file without re-encoding one of the two.

avi you can export to dv avi.

mov will be quicktime dv pal/ntsc.

Assuming you are on window.

No i dont want to combine simultaneusly .dv and .mov videos. I wish to combine .dv videos separate from the .mov videos, im just saying i have a few .dv and a few .mov files.  😉

I don´t know if it works for .dv/.mov but when using the DV codec in .avi files on Windows all i had to do was to import the files and place them on a matching timeline and export them. This did not require a re-encode of any files and was a handsome way to combine DV files in the .avi wrapper without any re-encoding.

By matching Timeline you mean a Timeline with the settings of the .dv/.mov files that will be combined? If so, where can i see those settings if they match with the video files settings?
Also what Preset should i be using? The PAL DV Preset?

Matching as in making sure that the timeline matches the source footage. You need to know what the source is, PAL or NTSC, Upper Field First or Lower Field First, 4:3 or 16:9.
