Saving a file when going directly from Lr to Ps and back to Lr

Just finished watching Terry White's webinar and I have two questions I hope someone can answer for me.

1 - He mentioned something that sounded like it was the CORE channel which seemed to be a place for contributors to get information. Can someone tell me how to locate that forum?

2 - I have not been clear about saving files once I go driectly from Lr to Ps. When going from Lr to Ps, does Ps always/automatically save back to a new file without overwriting the original? I have been using Save as and appending a suffix, but would rather have this taken care of automatically if Ps does that.

Thanks for your consideration - J. Ross

Hello,

If you mean going from LrC to Photoshop, making edits, then saving back to Lightroom, then the edit is saved as a Tiff file. It doesn't overwrite the original. In Lightroom, you then have your original file, say raw, and a copy from Photoshop saved as a Tiff.

I don't know about the CORE channel.
