Can i change horizontal image to vertical and end up with a 1600x 2400 similar to original?

I have just joined. I am a novice. Found some perfect pictures. All were landscape. Have spent hours on the net on all sorts of sites, trying to change these to the vertical format of 1600x 2400 that I need.  Tried reducing size, cropping it without losing much of the original ! etc. Nothing works. Setting  it to keep ratio, does not give me that size - or anywhere near it - so I could at least take that and try to resize it. Unticking ratio that gives me awful squashed pictures.

Finally found how to get Filter to be visible on Adobe. Selected vertical - to maybe find some other images that would suit. Can't find one picture I like.

Is there any way  i can somehow keep the horizontal pictures I found and end up with a 1600x 2400 image that looks similar to the original?  Or is it a lost cause?

Maybe compressing the whole picture and cropping it a bit? I have no idea what to do. I have a lot of patience and will take the time to do it, if it can be done.  If I cant, are there people we can pay to do it and how do you find them.  I am 80 and a pensioner, so needs to be at reasonable cost.

You said "keep the horizontal pictures I found" - if you "found" these pictures somewhere on the internet, and they're not pictures that you captured or created yourself, you cannot use them in Adobe Stock. Read the Contributor Agreement for the legal T&C's of using Adobe Stock.

That makes more sense. 🙂 Using Generative Expand in Photoshop might work, but it will probably require multiple attempts  and you still might not get the results you are hoping for. You're asking a lot.

Thank you. I don't have Photoshop. I have Photo Director and Photpad. But I just got these to try and  get the outcome I want. I will look and see if there is a 'Generative Expand' in them.  I thought it was worth asking others as being a novice, it was possible others had a solution I have no idea about.

Of course, I wouldnt do that. Sorry, I didnt' make that clear.  I meant I just joined Adobe Stock and took out a years subscription and found some images I liked and purchased them.

Sorry, I didn't understand that you were licensing images, not trying to upload them. You can't effectively change a horizontal image into a vertical image or vice versa by cropping to a different dimension and expecting to retain most of the image. I agree with @daniellei4510 that Generative AI, which samples existing info in order to expand the frame of the image with matching data, would be your best option. I don't know if those products you mentioned have such a capability.

Not sure what you mean by "found." The images in question weren't taken by yourself?
