The problem is, as I'm not sure which font will be used yet, I want to be able to just change the font for the source text layers ONCE and the shine adjusts consequently for the changed text. By @Marc Skywalker   The problem that I see is that while the size of the typeface is the size of the metal block as defined by Gutenberg, they vary widely in x-height, ascenders, counters, and descenders as well as that the width varies from Narrow to Extra Wide. Tracking and kerning will also affect things.   You might consider creating the shine, but adjusting the mask as needed until you settle on a typeface. Please share a screenshot that includes: layers panel option bar tools panel channels panel   It could, for instance, be transparency or a blending mode for the brush or the layer. @AlanL185    Look in your Layers panel to see if there is a Link icon. If so, the layer and mask will move together. Click once on the link icon to unlink them, then click once on the mask to select it before you drag.     Does this work?   If not, please clarify what you mean by "can't get the mask to move as he does". For people that use Photoshop few times a year is crazy to pay such a high money for products that they almost never use. By @peter_7624   When you join gym and have an annual membership, then use it three times a year, would you expect to pay a euro a day? Or pay a euro for each phone call instead of a monthly fee? You've posted this in Ideas, so the developers will see it, but I would personally not expect it to happen.   Adobe offers a Photography plan (annual) at a deeply discounted price. They have two prices for the single app plan: one is an annual commitment and is discounted, and the other is month-to-month as full price. You might want the plan that you can use for a month and cancel without penalty, but note that it is full price.
