In Acrobat DC Pro, there is an awesome Fill and Sign Feature. It makes it easy to sign your own name and drag & drop other data if desired. Then click "Get Others to Sign". If you need to add a Sig field(s), click Prepare Form and do so. Then click Ready to Send. Enter your recipient(s) and click Send It sends a link to a web browser so they can sign it with a tablet or phone. It sends PDFs to each party involved. Adobe Magic at its best! If you are on Windows, go the the Acrobat tab, the click Create PDF. It's a good idea to look in Preferences first. Are you on Mac or Windows? Which version of Acrobat? Which version of Word? If the above instructions don't work, then please answer these questions.

Max Wyss, That is my screen shot to show Judy where to find the Application and Producer information. It is just a sample and does not reflect her problem documents! After seeing the image, she was able to find out that all documents created one way were a problem, and all documents created another way were not. When I Exported the sample InDesign document, I did not select Interactive, by the way. I just opened the first InDesign file in my recent list. Also note that the time in the screenshot is minutes before the time in my post. I am mentioning this only because someone might read your comments and get confused. Hope this helps!

Just for an FYI, you will be compatible with your peers as long as you save your PDF in Acrobat X or earlier. You don't have to use Acrobat X yourself! Yay! So treat yourself to a newer version such as XI or DC. When you look in File > Properties, you will see the Producer—I have Acrobat DC, which is 15—and the Version. Note that anyone with Acrobat 8 or later can open this file.

If I understand you correctly, you are looking for classroom training in Adobe products at an Adobe Authorized Training Center using an Adobe Certified Instructor. If so, it is challenging to find, but Adobe does have a website with that information, and you can filter it by country, state, software, etc. Many centers include online as part of a regular class so that you do not have to travel. You are about to click okay to create a new layer with a layer mask. Your original layer will remain intact, but hidden, so you can leave it alone. It does not matter if it is a Background layer because you have chosen to create a new layer when you click OK. The problem that I see is that you should have the lipstick selected when you start—not the inverse. The layer mask will hide the part that is not selected. Look at the View setting at the top. The letter "F" will cycle between the views or you can click the dropdown. One of the settings is Selection, but they all work. Pick what you like, or preview all of them. Adjust the settings Select how you want to output. You have chosen to put the image on a new layer with a layer mask to hide the parts that are not selected. There's more to this dialog box, but you won't need it for your image.

Which version of Acrobat? And where are you pasting it to? From which application was it produced? In File > Properties, you will see the creation and modified dates as well as the application. This may or may not help you find out if it was altered. When text is deleted and retyped in an application, it is impossible to know what the original text was. WordPerfect used to store the changes, but I don't know of any other software that does. Acrobat does not. If you go to Edit PDF > Edit in Acrobat DC, you can see the font used. This is from Acrobat DC. If it was scanned and OCRd, you may or may not have trouble with the copy and paste. Newer versions of Acrobat do it better, and there are choices to make when doing OCR that affect the outcome.

If you make a text edit and then select File > Save, it will not change the ppi of the images. If you choose to Optimize the PDF, you can reduce the ppi, depending on your settings.

File > Create > PDF Portfolio. But it is only in Acrobat Pro, you cannot create a Portfolio in Standard. This screenshot is from page 275 of the Help manual. Does this answer your question?

I realize that you did not ask an actual question, just posted a rant about passwords, but I am going to attempt to answer it anyway. I do not work for Adobe, and passwords are one of the things that drive me nuts (which is why I am a fan of 1Password). I just finished my annual security training for the community college where I teach, and was reminded once again how criminals have gotten more sophisticated at cracking passwords. It's something we live with now, and it's important to have secure passwords. I will ask you the same question I ask myself when I have password trouble on various sites: Would you rather be p****d at Adobe (or other companies) when you have to set up a complex password and it takes multiple tries? Or would you rather be p****d at Adobe (or other companies) when your account gets hacked due to a weak password? In an ideal world, neither would happen. Here is one website that talks about secure passwords. Remember that Adobe is one of the companies that has had a breach. Select the Path mode before you draw, then draw a Path instead of a Shape. In the Brushes panel, select your brush and whatever options, such as size. In the Swatches or Color or Tools panel, select your foreground color In the Paths panel, Stroke the path > Select Brush and it will use your current Brush settings and foreground color. You can use the panel menu or the button at the bottom of the panel.

A second choice is make your layer a Smart Object. One way is Filter > Convert for Smart Filters > OK. Then put a Filter on the Layer, in this case Noise. Note that in the first image below, the layer is selected. In the second image, the mask that was created automatically is selected. It's important that you select the mask. Notice that the mask is white, and that the Filter, in this case Noise, is showing across the entire layer. • Select the mask * Select the Brush tool > choose a size • Select a foreground color. Choose Black or White, but not the color you have. In other words, select Black. • Paint the image to paint out the noise. This is non-destructive editing, as you can paint with white or black (gray will partially reveal), and the filter can be deleted. You can double-click the word "Noise" in the Layers panel to change the amount or type of noise. You can also get fancy and apply a B-W gradient on the mask.

Unfortunately, you can only have one version of Acrobat on your system, so it is not possible for me to test this with your version—only with mine, which is Acrobat Pro DC (Mac). Creating a Comments-only Summary created one page of comments per one page of PDF. I exported to Word 365 (Mac) and it created four pages with Section Breaks, which were easy to remove. Tags are traditionally thought of for Accessibility, so that's where they are found. In Acrobat Pro DC, you select Accessibility, then Autotag. It should be similar if it's available in Acrobat XI Standard. I know this was in XI Pro. An untagged document will look like this in Reading Order A tagged document will have tags. I am not an Accessibility expert, but there is a lot more to making it accessible. You, however, are not trying to make it accessible for people who are blind. You are just trying to export the comments to Word! So try this since that is what your error message is asking for. There is also a Make Accessible Action in Acrobat XI, but I can't remember if Actions are Pro only. And, please, report back! ~ Jane

There is only manual. Even though it says Pro, it is really for both. Note in this screen shot that it says (Acrobat Pro) if it is for Acrobat Pro—otherwise it is both. Sometimes it says (Windows) or (Macintosh) if it is platform specific. If you download it, it is editable. Delete what you don't like, or comment it out, or simply ignore it. With the summary, try exporting it to Word or Text only to get it onto fewer pages. "Enable accessibility" won't help with comments printing to one page. As the the manual says, it has one function, and that is to create tags so that screen readers such as JAWS can read the document out loud to people who can't see. When your question(s) are answered, don't forget to mark it so other volunteers won't have to keep opening it! And if they are not answered, then ask again! Best, Jane

1. If you select "Comments Only", they will all be on one page without the document. Is that what you are looking for? 2. Actions are only available in Acrobat Pro, not Standard. This is from page 215 of the PDF of the Help for Acrobat Pro XI. 3. Enable Accessibility And Reflow With Tagged Adobe PDF embeds tags in the PDF for screen readers. It's something you select when creating your PDF. This screen shot on the left is from Microsoft Word and you will see what you are looking for. The one on the right is from InDesign and is worded differently. (HINT: you do not need to use Microsoft Word!) 4. In Properties > Initial View, you can only select four of the left hand panes, not the right hand panes. (Too bad!) You can create a custom workspace with the Create Custom Tool that I showed earlier. It includes the right hand panel and the top panel. But no, it will not display when you open the document. You could write an action that would "Go To" > Comments, but, of course, you would have to run the action, so it doesn't make it any easier. I don't know JavaScript and don't know if you can make an action run when you open a document. You might ask that question outside of this thread. For now, I would move the Comments to the top of the right hand panel so it's easy to see and reach. You can also put in a Feature request: http://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html Also, to get to Create Custom Tool in Acrobat Pro DC, one way is to click Tools, then type part of the word in the search box to filter the list of tools a bit. Click it to use it or click Add > Add Shortcut to put it in the Right Hand panel. ~ Jane
