Thanks for trying to help. But I can't find any folder path like /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2020 in windows explorer. I've searched windows for that path every way I could think of it is not there. Are you using an apple computer for that folder structure? I didn't back up any presets or anything, never had too before. There was no pop up telling me that they would be removed, I guess I should have known but, it's never done that before. Jane, I've been trying to do this in Illistrator ever since I read your reply with the examples. I can make two circular paths to make the shape, but I can't get text on them like your example. I did get text on it once, but the text went underneath the smaller circle in the middle of the big one. I tried combining them, grouping them ect., to no avail. Now all I get is an error message pop up that says, "You must click on a non-compound, non-masking path to creat text inside a path", which tells me nothing since I'm not familiar with it. I've had that Illistrator program for a couple of years since it came with the CC subscription. Every couple of months I'll start it up and try to learn how to use it but it's confusing and unintuitive and just plain hard to learn. So I give up on it and wait a couple more months then try it again and it's the same thing over and over with that program.    If you would, please tell me how you did that and maybe a light bulb will come on in my head and I'll learn something new. 🙂  ... I do have illistrator but I have no idea how to use it. 🙂 I've tried to learn it but none of the tools work the same as the ones in Photoshop and it's such a headache to switch between the two to do something that should be able to be done in one application. I tried to leave a suggestion at the link you provided, but it doesn't work. I made the post then the only button was to "Sign in to post". I clicked it, and up came a dialog with several options to sign in (again). So I signed it and another dialog came up saying "You have signed in successfully, you can now close this window", so I did. Now there is no way to post it because the "Sign In To Post" button is grayed out and non opperative.  ... View more

Doesn't work for me. All I have been able to do with "Presets Save" is save a single layer of a specific size. I can find no way to add graphics, styles, text laywers and guides from there. Can you please tell me how you were able to save those to the "Saved" tab? ... View more

I read that in adobe's help. It says Change output size to match source is not avaliable with all export formats, but, it doesn't say WHAT export formats it's avaliable with... Sort of leaves one hanging and guessing what is and what isn't available, they should fix that because it's not helpful at all. I'm thinking that they don't even know themselves becuase they refuse to fully answer the question, they just throw that out there, "is not avaliable with all export formats", and just leave people hanging with no explanation of what is and what is not avaliable! Adobe's help reminds me of a bunch of politicians trying to get out of answering a question by saying something like, "that policy/law doens't work so we need to do something different" but they never ever name something that will work, they just dance around the question and bombard you with usless empty statements hoping you get tired of it and go away. All because they don't have an actual solution or better solution that will work. Adobe needs to fix that!   Clickng Match Source in the video tab removes the crop that I set in the export tab, so that doesn't work. And choosing a Match Source Preset does the same thing essentially because it replaces the crop I set with a premade one of a different size, so that doesn't work either.    In the export window, under the Source tab where you can set a crop to whatever size you want by dragging the crop, then under the Output tab, the logically  the thing to do would be choose 'Change output size to match source' and it 'should' export it to the size you cropped it to. Not some different 'preset' size and not to the same size as the original video. But to the size you set the crop to, nothing else. But that option is not avaliable and adobe's 'help' doesn't say why, doesn't say how to fix it, doesn't explain anything. The option is greyed out, with no explantion of why or what else one can do to obtain the desired results.   You can't change it in the sequence settings before you start to export it because you don't know exactly what size it's going to be or exactly what part of the  video is going to be cropped out until until you drag the crop on it. And if you cancel the export so you can access the sequence settings, the crop is lost and if you change the sequence settings to the dimensions you want for the crop then export it, it will be cropped equally on all sides (centered), NOT where you actually wanted the crop to be! So that doesn't work!   Now, back to my original question of, "why is Change output size to match source greyed out". Nobody has been able to answer that question. 🙂 And why do they even have that option since it's never avaliable to use?   Thank you Ann for trying to help, I do appreciate it. I was hoping there would be a better way. I remember doing something similar several years ago in an older copy of premiere pro, and was able to use the option to "Change output size to match source" in the output tab. I have no idea why they left it in the option menu since it's never avaliable to use. That just doesn't make sense to have an option that nobody is allowed to use anymore. Adobe needs to fix this and make it so that you can just crop and export at that cropped size without the black borders. Thanks for clearing that up about pixel dimensions, I didn't quite understand what you meant by that. I don't use them for anything special, but from time to time I'd like to be able to save a small clip of a portion of a video to pop up over a video to make a point. Or to cut out the sides of a video that was shot in portrait mode instead of landscape mode then exported with a background in say 1920 X 1080 to get rid of the background, or black bar sides. I know you can mask out what you don't want in premiere when you do this, but if you use the same clips in more than one video you have to do it over and over and over however many times you use the clips. If you just are able to export the clips in the size and format you want, without the black bars or background it would save lots of steps and repetitive work down the road.  ... View more

This is what I'm talking about. It's too many steps to take. What you're describing is sort of a "one size fit's all" approach and that isn't what I need because it just won't work. Something that fits "most" won't work for everything. (for me, I find that things that "fits most" never fits what I want) I'm not asking about pixel dimensions, I don't think pixel dimensions would affect what I'm wanting to do, square pixels would work perfectly fine as the shape is rectangle, not an odd shape with curves or anything. To accomplish what I want, these are the steps I have to take. And it's really quite comical when you think about it that so many steps have to be taken for such a trivial task as this.     It should be so that you can just set the crop, then export it to that size without black bars, without all these steps. ... Hello Ann, This is an example I made, not the video I was asking about. I fixed that by subtracting the cropped dimensions from the original dimensions then resetting the video size then exporting it. A lot of unnecessary steps to do if you have to do this on a regular basis. I already deleted the original source files for that video. So I captured a bit of video to make this example from a comercial on tv. You can see that the option to "Change output to match source" is greyed out.      What I need to know is how to just drag the crop to the portion I want in the source tab then export the video to that that size without any black bars on any side. Without having to subtract the difference, and "do the math" and then change anything in the "Basic Video Settings" before exporting the video.  One should be able to do it just by draging the crop to size in the 'Source' tab, then choose "Change output size to match source" in the 'Output' tab and export it without have to figure out a specific size and then change values elsewhere.
