One way around that could be to sign up for the free trial and download & install XD, then cancel it before 7 days have passed... The full trial would end but XD Starter will continue to run on your computer for free, with no payment made.
You could even cancel the free trial the same day after downloading, if you so choose.

Hi Michelle,
Are you a student? The Student & Teacher Edition (and Photography plan) are the only cases where there isn't a Monthly option, because they're so heavily discounted.
But for everything else, there is indeed a Monthly (month-to-month) option for every plan.
See the article posted previously for what to know before cancelling.

Hi @Deleted User,
Note that Creative Cloud 2018 supported El Capitan (macOS 10.11); it was the last version Creative Cloud to do so...
If that's better for you, then the original direct download links for the CC 2018 installers are here.
You can use older releases like this one with your paid subscription, even though it is no longer supported by Adobe.

Adobe's Annual plans (and Student plans) are for a 12-month commitment. They also offer Monthly (month-to-month) plans with no commitment, if that works better for you. You decide at the time you sign up for the free trial.
Here's a guide explaining the process which should help you find the best solution, and possibly save some time or money: What You Should Know Before Canceling Your Adobe Subscription Outside of that, we cannot really help further here, as this is primarily a user-to-user forum – so your best bet would be to contact Adobe Customer Care directly.

Hi Nadia,
Where and how were you offered a 60-day free trial? Haven't ever heard of that.
Did you happen to read the terms when you accepted the free trial? You might want to consult the original information which was offering the trial.
Typically when you sign up for an Adobe trial, you are signing up for a subscription with the first X days free. And it says that when you start the trial.

Thanks for letting us know. @Droningon49 above also reported that signing out and signing back in again (from the Help menu of the Rush app) addressed the problem:
For me, the solution was to sign out of my adobe account within the Adobe Premiere Rush program itself rather than the Creative Cloud App.
Note this wouldn't change the version of Rush installed on your computer. But perhaps it still helps somehow.
Please let us know if you have any further issues should you upgrade to the latest version of Rush.

> "if I had other Adobe products installed, without proper purchase and/or licensing, ..."
Hopefully that is just hypothetical – if not, then that could be the issue?
Companies like BSA no doubt have bigger fish to fry, but a $150K penalty is nothing to sneeze at. So, there is potentially more at stake for any company than just losing their license(s), if pirated software were being used.
In any event, everyone here (including me) is simply expressing their opinion, and should not be taken as legal advice. Best of luck!

In thinking of how to handle the situation, note that it may be more than just licenses being revoked but also fines for violations which could be levied.
Companies could pay up to $150K per infraction for unlicensed software use
NB: We here are all just fellow Adobe users and no post on this thread should be considered legal advice.

bsacompliancesolutions.org is a legitimate domain, part of BSA, and not a scam:

In other words, a confirmed email from that source is legit and not fake.
Agree with others above that consulting legal and/or accounting advice is recommended.

I agree that older releases should still be readily available, especially when those releases will run under a current paid subscription and are the only versions that many customers' systems support!
This is especially a problem for Mac users, because only the latest 3 revisions of macOS are ever supported by the newest edition of Creative Cloud. Meaning paying customers with older non-upgradeable systems can't use it. And if there's no version they can use, then why subscribe?
The right thing to do IMO would be to continue to make older versions available for those who need them, but only officially provide tech support for the most recent two major releases... So the older stuff would be "use at your own risk/discretion," but nevertheless would help so many people.

Hey @Stan Jones,
I've never tried @kglad's idea, but it sounds interesting.
Adobe made a major change in the standalone installers back in 2016... Since that time, the product teams have only done one initial cut for each app after the launch of a major new release, but then unfortunately haven't taken the time to update them. Meaning, only the base .0 version (and not any updated version) has been available as direct download links since 2016.

Thanks @kglad; unfortunately probably a casualty of Adobe's link takedown awhile back.
Wish they would improve customer access to older versions; it's particularly getting difficult for older macOS and Windows users now... Customers who want to have a Creative Cloud subscription and give Adobe their money, but who aren't able to use the last two releases.

Definitely contact Adobe Customer Care, as other Experts have suggested above. Adobe does not normally charge fees when customers change or upgrade plans – but here it seems because you began with two plans, you could only upgrade one of them... Furthermore, Adobe usually restricts users from buying multiple plans which overlap, like you wound up with.
Hopefully, their Customer Support team will see it the same way, and adjust your account.

No. We seem to be going in circles. In your previous post, you wrote: "Installing manually via the XD Installer does not work." But how do you know that – did you actually get an XD standalone installer from Customer Service and try it? In your new reply, you seem to indicate that you didn't.
And whether you do it that way – or sign up for the Teams trial – in both cases the XD program will remain installed on your computer permanently.
If you carefully read the article again, you may better understand. All the necessary info is there.
https://prodesigntools.com/creative-cloud-2023-direct-download-links.html
Once XD is installed, you can launch it from elsewhere (besides the Desktop app) – namely, from the Windows Start menu or from the macOS Dock/Launchpad.
Hope that helps.

David, is XD actually installed on the new Macbook or not? It remains unclear from the things you've said. What happens when you start XD from the macOS Dock/Launchpad? (not from the Creative Cloud app)
Did you try either of the two methods described in the article linked just above? You can possibly get a standalone installer either from Adobe Customer Care or via the Admin Console (with a Teams free trial). Did you follow either or both of those suggestions?
