Have you checked that your graphics card is supported by the program? And any other hardware. Another cause can be missing files. But you shouldn't get that with the trial download. the error is coming directly from Photoshop, not the computer, which i would presume means photoshop has been told what to do in that situation exactly. When do you get the error anyway? does it seem to install then tell you about it, or does it come up straight away, or somewhere in between? Also, language / version incompatability could be a cuase. "AdobeTypeSupport9-mul.boot.xml" < that just sounds like it could be talking about an issue like that considering it is everywhere in that text, just different names. ... View more

How did you previously install Photoshop Elements on your PC? If you purchased it online and activated it, the download link must be present on  your account page I think.
