If I draw a closed path, say a circle, and have two other smaller closed paths, circles also, on the same layer, how do I make the two smaller circle paths 'knock out' of the larger path which is filled with a color... I've tried 'join' and will not allow me to do that, I have tried reversing path direction.... not working... I know there is a way but I am lost with this... - (like type on a path) - I tried typing in symbols from a type face but only get a box that shows the special character is there... I need better control and to be able to see. To start, I have a star made as a path, and I'd like to attach several of those vector 'stars' to a path so I can treat the result as I would be able to do with type on a path... Might be asking for too much here but would also like to have the stars uniformly respond to modification in size or spacing between... acting like type on a path, if that is possible, and if not, simply having the ability to attach several of these stars to a path would be very helpful in itself. I have made a circle using the ellipse shape tool and no stroke nor fill and wanted to put type on a path using that ellipse circle shape... but the type on a path menu item is grayed out... Latest versions of everything on Mac w/ Mojave OS, PS / CC... Suddenly I cannot have the move tool selected as normal, no caps lock key or anything else to alter, and then press my normal space bar and command key together and get nothing, no zoom tool... the only way I can get the zoom tool now is to select the hand tool and then the spacebar and command key yield the zoom tool... Never had this happen before, have no idea what has happened... has their been a change in PS with the latest update? I don't see why this would change... very inconvenient... I have InDesign 2019 and Mac OS latest OS and versions of all... I posted the question on how do I import a multi-page pdf document into InDesign and was told here that it would require a script and was given a link... I followed the link and am more confused, but believe this can be resolved. The Script I need was said to be included with InDesign, I don't need anything more complex than a simple multi-page import, same size document page size into a ready and empty InDesign document with the same page size and 18 empty pages is what I am trying to do. Now I cannot find any script included with any of my CS6 on up to my latest CC 2019 version that look anything like a script with the name 'importPDFtoindesign' or something to that effect... I don't know how to activate a script, do you double-click on it from outside InDesign? I think that might be the way... Anyway, I'm still at square one but know that I need a script... I have a PDF document which is several pages. A simple 'place' command into the new and empty InDesign document only places page 1.  I would like to have all of the pages in the PDF document brought in on their respective pages 1, 2, 3... and so forth... For decades, the space bar and in combination with the command tool (when using the arrow cursor) make the hand tool and then, together, make the magnify tool respectively...   For some reason now, and I have been in preferences over the past week changing everything I can imagine and still no standard behavior. I have several other issues with slices areas showing and windows 'hiding' and having to be brought back by going into menus... Overall, the working performance of Photoshop with the latest CC 2018 version has gone downhill and my work has been overtaken with simply trying to restore Photoshop to a normal behavior. Could it be this latest release?   I've never needed to go backward and re-install older versions of Photoshop before, but now, I am considering, simply because I need to get back to work.   I've RESTORED Photoshop at startup, trashing all of my prefernences, I've been through all of the preference settings and changed every conceivable thing to no avail... the spacebar and command key no longer bring up the hand tool and magnify icons... I need to go to the 'H' keyboard shortcut and select 'Hand' tool before the spacebar and command key then work in the expected way... not an acceptable workaround...   Photoshop is throwing my business for a loop and I don't know how to recover now except to go back to my version 6 which is on CD in storage... This is a new behavior I have never seen before in Photoshop, Everything lastest CC 2018 version, OS, everything updated to newest always... I open documents and they all appear in the window, that is normal. Then, when I switch to another app, like Safari or any other app and return to Photoshop, all of the open documents are hidden. Oh, they are open and going to the Window menu I can select them, one at a time only to bring them back to the photoshop work area where I can see them. What on earth could be causing this behavior? How can I get Photoshop to return to its normal behavior of displaying documents that are open? See screen shot with 25 documents open, nothing can be seen... TIA for help with this..., Ken ...
