My $0.02. When you draw with the Pen tool and select the Path option as previously explained, Photoshop will create a Work Path in the Paths panel. That's a temporary item that can be overwritten accidentally. To avoid loss, double-click on the name Work Path to rename it, or click on Create new path in the Paths panel before drawing.

I believe that Shift + . (dot) serves as a keyboard shortcut for the first brush. There are several shortcuts that lack corresponding menu items, and they cannot be modified, such as stamp layers (all modifiers + E). This one might belong to that category.

It might relate to Preferences > Cursors and the selected option, or possibly to Mac preferences? I'm on Windows, so please wait for someone with a Mac to join the discussion. I recall there was a similar issue that was resolved using Mac preferences.

I’m not entirely sure I understand your request, but let me give it a try: after rounding the edges and converting the shape layer to a Smart Object, simply double-click the Smart Object thumbnail to enter the editing mode in a separate tab. Activate the shape tool, and you should be able to adjust the roundness. If this method doesn’t work, please specify your Photoshop version.

You probably downloaded an AI file, which is an Illustrator file containing 20 shapes. I haven't done that in a while, but you should be able to copy and paste them from Illustrator into Photoshop. If you try to open the file in Photoshop, it will be rasterized, causing the shapes to lose their vector properties and preventing them from being saved as custom shapes in Photoshop.

It does not matter how old the shapes or uploaded files are; ignore their age. You can also safely disregard ratings because people often have unrealistic expectations, expecting plugins to work perfectly. Most users on Exchange come with these misconceptions and little prior experience. They tend to be vocal when files or extensions do not meet their beginner expectations. I'm not sure why it is like that. I have the same files on multiple platforms; on other platforms, the average rating is 4.5 stars, while on Adobe Exchange, the same files usually receive 1.5 stars.

As @jane-e already explained, do not crop; instead, mask that layer/image. Create a selection using the Rectangular Marquee tool with the Style in the options bar set to Normal (see screenshot), then click on Create Layer Mask at the bottom of the Layers panel. If you insist on deleting pixels, right-click on the mask and select Apply Layer Mask. This won't work when working with a Smart Object layer, which must be rasterized to apply the layer mask and delete pixels hidden by the mask.
Another method to delete pixels is to create a selection, invert it, and press Delete. It is advisable to create a layer mask instead of permanently deleting pixels, just in case.

Try re-recording by selecting File > Save As or Save a Copy, or remove the Save step and create a new step using the specified commands.
By the way, please do not alter the File Name field when saving during step recording.

Testing on Windows 11 with Photoshop 26.2.0. There is always a difference when using tabbed documents, and you can tell which tab is active. It's either the text that is lighter or the tab color, depending on the color scheme selected in preferences. When using floating windows, the experience differs when the lighter UI is selected in preferences, as previously mentioned by @Jeff Arola

My guess is that an integrated GPU cannot handle the test requirements. Nowadays, some integrated GPUs can manage basic tasks in Photoshop, but generally, it is advised to have a dedicated GPU, starting with at least an RTX 2060 or equivalent. In my opinion, a minimum of an RTX 3060 Ti is recommended.

So you want a script or Photoshop to monitor a folder for changes, and when a change occurs, to import a file and replace a mask in a specific document? Perhaps a script can accomplish that; I'm not certain. Let's wait for scripters to see this post and respond to your question.

Could you please post the content from Help > System Info? It seems you have an integrated graphics card, or the dedicated one is not registered or in use.
