I'm not entirely sure what you want to ask. If you create a smart object before applying a blur, you gain the ability to adjust the amount of blur and restrict it to specific areas of the image, as shown in your example using a filter mask that will be automatically generated. You can achieve a similar effect without a smart object by duplicating the image layer, applying the blur to the top layer, and then masking or erasing parts of the upper layer. However, you will lose the flexibility mentioned by @jane-e

I do not see any issues when saving 3-4GB files. I have some templates that I use on a daily basis, and everything works fine; it's not super fast, but it's not painfully slow either. I have a fast SSD drive; if you have a spinning disk, that could be a problem. Otherwise, try resetting your preferences; it may help sometimes when strange issues arise.

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you want the brand on the bottle to appear realistic when placed, and not pixelated? Ensure that the bottle matches the image; it needs to be at a pixel size that is suitable for the parent image. If the parent image is 4000x4000px and the bottle image is 100x100px, there isn't any magic to make it look as you might want it to.

Perhaps you have not enabled the "Delete Cropped Pixels" option, or you might be attempting to crop a Smart Object layer. Additionally, I am uncertain if I fully understand the issue. Have you tried this method to create a border inside? Create a new blank layer, just in case. Make sure that layer is selected in the Layers panel. Select > All Edit > Stroke, set it to Inside (in this case), 100% Opacity, enter the number of pixels in Width text field, and choose a color.

I am with @ExUSA you need a laptop with a dedicated graphics card if you can afford it. Although it may work as it is for now, looking ahead, you will likely encounter issues. The main thing to remember is that the same components, like the Ryzen 5 5500, are not the same for laptops and desktop machines; the same rule applies to processors. Desktop versions are better because of laptop cooling systems limitations.

It can have a gradient at certain angles, perhaps in a Reflected style. You can also try painting and then clipping that layer to the Type layer. You may need to adjust the painted area slightly, possibly using blur or Opacity to achieve a unique look that is not easily replicable.

I cannot reproduce the issue on my end with Photoshop 26.7.0 on Windows. Everything functions as expected with the Move tool active and Auto-Select > Layer checked. I tested with pixel-based, vector-based, and Smart Object layers with the layer mask. The only instance where the mask was selected upon clicking on content was when the mask was applied to a Type layer. The Outer Glow effect does not alter anything.
