You can't successfully include a video in an Interactive PDF, you can include a hyperlink to an external video source, such as a YouTube video. Alternatively use another format based on HTML5 such as InDesign's Publish Online, FXL ePub or In5, that's an InDesign plugin (at extra cost). To edit a video use Photoshop or Premiere Pro.

Once you download the application you don't need an internet connection to use it, just once every few weeks to check you're up-to-date with your subscription. If you can give details of your system and the particular issues you're having we might be able to help, for the vast majority of users Photoshop is stable.

Presumably you've kept InDesign 2024 on your system so you can use it whilst the issue with 2025 is sorted out. Do you have any plugins installed, such as Magnet for Mac?

In adition to the other useful advise offered, I suggest if you're working on a document for a long time, you save it as an IDML document so as to clear out the crud that builds up and that can cause a document corruption.

A baseline grid is an excellent use of the facility for a book (novel/biography style). Use Paragraph Styles throughout and (depending on the design), perhaps a full-one for the first paragraph and an indented one for subsequent paragraphs. I suggest for your 12/18 body text you set the baseline grid to 9pt so that you align every other line for your text and it will give you more flexibility for space around subheadings and similar. Headings can be multiples of 9pt (e.g. 18pt).

Your version of InDesign is around 13 years old and probably won't be compatible with recent OS versions, it's time to upgrade InDesign 2025.
