The last time that I was editing a document in spread view, it was my recollection that there were text-flow boxes that I could connect by dragging, in order for text fo flow from one page (or text-box) to the next. My current document is a calendar with text not on all pages, and laid out in pages, not spreads. I am not seeing the usual text-flow boxes on my pages, to allow an orderly flow of text from one page to the next. Please advise if I first need to create a page master, in order to have access to those flow boxes, or is there another way to achieve my goal? Or do I need to create my calendar in spread view (see below)? All of my calendar pages are laid out at 11" x 8.5". My text para. is set fo 'full justify' with no indents. The last two lines have excessively long spaces in them, for unaccountable reasons. I also need to _not_ justify the last line in the paragraph, but have forgotten which control(s) make(s) that happen. Please see German-language sample attached. ... View more

On my iMac running macOS Mojave, I cannot find a way to open a .DNG file directly. If I right-click the file, the only options are ON1 Photo Raw and Adobe Photoshop. My only solution is to first open Adobe Bridge, point that to the location of my .DNG, and then open Adobe Camera Raw from there. If there is another way to open the .DNG directly, I would appreciate hearing abut it. ... View more

I was editing my document when suddenly the workspace background tripled in width. I'm not sure what effect, if any, this has on the finished product, but it is very distracting, annoying, etc. I tried closing and reopening the document, but there was no change. Next I'm going to close ID and restart, then if necessary restart my computer (iMac). I believe there is a keyboard shortcut for resetting ID preferences on startup. What is that? My document measures 5.5" x 8.5". The exported PDF occupies more pages than the indd so that the TOC now points to the wrong pages. My first instinct was simply to adjust the page numbers based on what I saw in the pdf. But this is wasteful,  possibly error prone, etc. Wondering if there is setting in the export dialog, where I can fix this, rather than going back after the fact, adjusting, re-exporting, etc. Best, jwc ... For some reason, when I export my 11 x 8.5 (landscape) document to PDF, I'm getting the document with twice as many pages: the desired landscape version PLUS  a truncated version in portrait format, 8.5 x 11, with a portions of pages truncated (cut off). My printer requires that all pages of my 11" x 8.5" document be rotated 90 d. ccw., to facilitate printing. While I'm pretty sure that I had a 'rotate' option in the 'Export' workflow of past versions of inDesign, I cannot find it now. Accordingly, I first, manually rotated all pages within inDesign, but when I exported the rotated pages to pdf, the pdf generator created pages as though they had _not_ been rotated! So now, I'm really wondering what is going on here. Any ideas appreciated, as always. I'm also thinking of a test document, 8.5 x 11,  with text and graphics, and exporting that. Of course, entering text onto those pages would require first rotating them, entering text, then rotating them back to 11 x 8.5, not a happy scene, lots of extra effort.
