It's not Adobe's fault that you can't do it. The placemultipage pdf is in the scripts. Window>Utilities>scripts.

Not sure what panel you are referring to but you can right click on the text and go to 'text frame options'. You can set the number of columns there.

It looks to me that the text box is not wide enough to accommodate those long lines. Make the text box wider or reduce the font in the problem lines.

I think he is saying that it automatically opens in Illustrator. His words "Therefore I am not able to use the PDF as it always opens Illustrator" I suggest he first opens Acrobat and then opens the file.
