I assume that's ONLY happening in Photoshop? If so, please go to Edit>Preferences>Performance and turn off use GPU.

Hi. So, this video is VERY sloppily done and with terrible mouse control, but I think it may help you to see how to accomplish what you want. I converted the background layer to a regular layer - so it accepts transparency. I created a new blank layer and moved it underneath. Then I created a clipping mask (I could have alt/option clicked between the layers, instead, to do the same thing). Then, I just painted on the bottom, blank layer. Visibility of my image became defined by the opacity of the layer below.

Hi. On a Mac, I think you'll find it's Control Tab to switch among open images. Command+Tilde switches among open apps.

Hi. Photos shot in RAW format, must be processed before entering Photoshop. Photoshop itself never could just open a RAW file. This is kind of the digital equivalent of processing the film that came out of the camera, into negatives before it could be printed in a photographic enlarger. You alter whether Camera Raw opens .jpg's and .tif's in Raw, or allow them to open directly into PS, but RAW images will open in Camera RAW. By the way, using RAW is a great way to pre-process the image. Nothing's been done to it and it contains ALL the image information as shot. It's the best place to make global corrections - like altering exposure and such, prior to hitting Open to get it into Photoshop. https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/introduction-camera-raw.html

I got SO excited when I saw this - so I tried it on my Mac. Turns out, while that may work well on Windows, it doesn't exist on the Mac. In fact, I tried with many key combinations, and haven't been able to find it (and don't see the option in the customize keyboard shortcuts command. I'd LOVE to find this, so if anyone does know about it on Mac, please chime in!

There's always going to be some issue with this - because of a combo or resolution and content and more. One way to scale it up (again, depending on the content) is to do it very incrementally. Try Preserve Details or Bicubic Smoother - but if you want to rez up 200%, first do 110%, then 120%... etc. It does a better job with smaller increments. ALSO, you can maybe try resizing the lower rez image up, and aligning it on top of the higher rez image. Then, use a blending mode that may allow for the darker tones, and not apply the lighter tones - like... Multiply. In order to have a minimal effect on the lower layer - this would be incremental, too. One layer in maybe 10-15%, and then duplicating that layer. Unsure if that'll fix it, but that's how I'd start out trying... EDIT: I just tried it on the low rez screenshot I got on here, and it was best with Darken as the blend mode...

There's no real toggle for the actual paintbrush tool, except for that hold and release tilde toggle yo mention. BUT, you can try using the B shortcut and the E shortcut to jump between tools. Since I don't have a Cintiq, I'm unsure how you'd set that in it's tools. For my Intuos Pro, I can assign a button, or set up the setting in the tablet driver.

Yeah - selections and automation are very rarely compatible. Since there's SO much variety in making selections, Adobe never seems to have bothered to try to give it any power in scripts, or actions... no matter what, it's going to want to ask what you want...

Okay - now I understand... The Select Color Range too is not intended to work as you request. It really is about selecting contiguous colors, and there's no good way to make absolute selections - UNLESS the original colors are very distinctly different, in which case, Melissa's suggestion above will work.

You don't need the older version, and when deleting it, please DO use the uninstaller in the CC app, as @Mylenium says. THAT being said - I always keep the older version installed (they don't interfere with each other, they just take up space), until I've put the new version through its paces. Having the older version gives you a "backup" to use, should something be not as expected, or just not working, in the new version.

I'm thinking this may not be a Photoshop setting, but rather, a Mac setting. I just tried what you said, using my iMac to a 2nd monitor, and it worked fine. What OS are you using on the 2017 Macbook pro? Is there a big discrepancy in the screen resolution between the MBP and the 2nd monitor?

Hi. From what it sounds like, you may be using some rather large files, and the scratch disk is filling up. Do you have a 2nd drive you can connect? If so, you can have Photoshop use that drive for your scratch disk. Scratch disks are hard drive space used to hold parts of an image you're not working on, at a given time, so your RAM can focus on what you ARE working on. Please take a look at https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html - to ensure your computer is within Photoshop's system requirements.

Hi. Can you please be more specific about "not working". Does an error come up, or does it just not do anything? If your issue actually matches any of the previous comments, please add your issue to the "Bugs" section, at the top of this community - or better yet, search for the problem IN the Bug section, and upvote one that exists. The more votes a but note has, the more of a push to get the developers to do something.

Hi. May I ask what precise issue the Refine Edge brush is doing? When I went to test this, I realized I'd acidentally been focused on the wrong layer- one that already had a mask, yet the Refine Edge brush worked fine. As it did when I readjusted my focus to the correct layer. But, Decontaminate Colors was OFF, when I was on the wrong layer, and when I switched to the correct, original, unmasked layer, Decontaminate was just fine...

Photoshop's touch screen support is very general, and not really specific to any particular screen (however, they generally address more common screens, like iPads, Tablets, and Chromebooks, etc.) From my experience it's likely a setting in your Wacebo device's interface. I think your question would be most quickly and accurately answered by contacting Wacebo, directly.

I can't speak to #1, but for #2 and #3, you may want to change your Export preferences to JPEG. Then, to so your Save As..., instead choose File>Export>Export As In that dialog box, you can use your slider, and still see your resulting file size.

I think for this, your best option is to create an Action (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/creating-actions.html) Once you've done so, you can use that action individually on any open image, or run it as a Batch Action (https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/processing-batch-files.html), or create a Droplet, so you can drag images to it (https://www.slrlounge.com/photoshop-tips-how-and-why-to-use-droplets/

Is there a way you can log into another account on your computer? Something like a guest account, with none of your usual background processes running? If you can test this problem in that environment, you'd be able to see if any of your background apps are interfering with it. Same with externally connected peripherals. By disconnecting them and testing you can determine if there's a problem being caused by USB (that happens, sometimes).

Hi. What you seek is absolutely available in Photoshop, but takes a little knowledge. To specify where in an image a change is to happen, we have to make a selection of that area. Please review the content on https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/selection-tools-basics.html - to help you to do that (take a look at the Magic Wand tool). Then, to fill it with a color, please look at https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/how-to/add-color-fill-layers.html

The only thing I can think of, that makes that happen is if there's a dialog box popping up UNDER your Photoshop window... Next time it happens, please move the PS window around, and look behind it. This kind of thing can happen, if you somehow activate the Finder, when switching among applications...

Hi. You are doing it right, but the interface isn't showing you your original selection. At the top of the dialog box on the right, there's a preview drop down (the image at the top of it allows you to select different views). When you click that, the top of the dropdown is "Marching Ants", which will allow you to see your selection as you made it. All the other options are available, too - so you can refine and paint that selection to perfection. If you REALLY like the end result you can change "Output Settings" at the bottom of that dialog box to Layer Mask, and it'll create that layer mask for you.

I am SO SO sorry for the delay. I had lots of business to attend to, and then Adobe MAX. I wonder, did you find an answer? For me, when I try what you did, it works exactly the same way - but all my measurements remain in px measurements. The only resolution I found, is to resize each layer down - they DO fit each artboard when I do that, making each artboard have it's own background layer, made to size. It's annoying, but I had to resize each one, individually... Perhaps an option to constrain new layers to fit artboards would be helpful to a lot of people. May I suggest adding it to the Ideas section at the top of the Photoshop Ecosystem community?

Hi. This does look odd - but may I ask, how did you add your purple layer? In Artboard, if you click a particular layer, it should come up with the color picker. To add a layer within an artboard, you'd want to focus on the layer portion of the artboard, and then add your layer (which will come up above it, the size of your artboard). So, knowing your steps will help us to determine what went so wonky here...
