The synopsis of this thread and issue is: You can use appearance for a checkbox, applied within Indesign, but when the PDF is viewed in Acrobat/Reader, the checkbox style is used and will override any custom appearance in the various states of the checkbox.

Have you checked the resolution of the images in Acrobat? Have you changed the downsampling resolution in your PDF export setting? Have you tried the ZIP compression method, instead of JPEG compression when exporting?

Here are 2 workarounds: 1. Use only one element for the rollover appearance. I know that will not work for the rollover effect you created, but it seems to be more reliable. 2. Instead of using rollover appearance, use a combination rollover action of show the effect, and rolloff action of hide the effect.

After thinking about my comment pertaining to adding the action, this will only affect a user leaving the page and not have any effect on the user just hovering over the buttons. Here is one thing that I tried and works. I moved the menu items and gave more space between them. Edit: spacing the menu items helps, but does not resolve the issue.

I noticed the sticky rollover, and it seems to be related to how the cursor leaves the hotspot area. One thing to keep in mind, you only have rollover appearance working right now. When you have an action like go to page, the user will not see this sticky rollover.

IMO, there is no need to manually downsize images in Photoshop. By default, High Quality and Press Quality PDF export will bicubic downsample images above 450PPI and this will take care of the images in your file.

Most likely this video's codec is incompatible for Indesign import. You will need to use a video utility to convert video and with H.264 codec.

No specific error code, but the messages are "Unable to sync some files" or "Unable to sync data". I suspect this issue might be due to an illegal character in the files that can not be synced. Is there any way to determine the name of the files that will not sync?

Hi David, • Files are shared from a number of computers including Windows 4.2.0.211, Mac 4.2.0.211, and Mac 3.8.0.310 • Yes • Yes • Not on the one Mac • Yes, I have sporadically experienced longer than usual sync times. Other things I have observed is CC runs a sync when there were no files updated. And I receive messages that some files can not be synced.

The only thing that has come close is exporting to JPEGs and importing, but my text is pixelated and difficult to read. I would export the images and transparent elements, minus the text, as a jpeg. Then remove those elements and replace with the composite jpeg. This method means you will have two documents.

I just experienced opening my CC folder and files and folder were missing. In my case, these files were moved to the Archives. To see if your files were also moved to Archives, from the CC application flyout > Manage Account > Assets (viewed in browser) you will see Files: All, Shared: Archived. Select the Archived link and files may be in this folder.

There is a workaround for a Text Wrap that would be done in Acrobat. It would involve creating multiple text forms instead of one text form (with multiple lines). Each form field would be positioned accordingly. Then a script that will allow the text to flow from form field to form field.

Indesign CS6 will set the tab order based on the creation time of the form element. The first created form element will be the first in the tab order. Edits to form element will not bump up in order. You will need to change the tab order in Acrobat.

You can do this in basically 2 methods. Method 1: One Indesign document: 11 x 17, 2 pages - front and back, guides created for the four quarters. One drawback, from example, pages 2 and 3 are rotated 180°, however you can rotate view when working on these pages of project. Method 2: Two Indesign documents. First document used for content creation: 5.5 x 8.5, 8 pages for all quarters of finished piece, orientation normal. Second document used for final assembly: 11 x 17, 2 pages - with content placeholders for each quarter. This will require export of first doc, and then placed into second document. Rotate pages 2 and 3, and also consider bleed of content.

Applications that allow placement of PDF files from different sources should not require full fonts. Dov, - I am using Indesign for the layout of the program. - I am placing PDFs of advertisements that are not created by me, but other agencies. - The source application of these ads can be Indesign, Illustrator, QuarkExpress, Microsoft Word, etc. - There can be 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 ads per page. When exporting the program document to PDF from Indesign while leaving the font subset at 100%, there can be pages where isolated ads have errors, i.e. characters drop out and are replaced with boxes. I can resolve this issue by exporting the program document with 0% font subsetting. I agree that for most PDF exports, 0% subsetting is not required. The project described above is not uncommon. And usually there are no font problems associated with this kind of project. But, this suggestion is offered as a last step problem solving measure only.

I will add this situation as one that required the 0% subset method. Exporting a PDF for a program, where there are various PDF advertisements from different sources, on the same page, and sharing same fonts. The solution was to export with complete font embedding.

A subset will encode only the glyphs used in the document in the export. The PDF Font Properties will show embedded subset. However if I set my percentage of font subset in InDesign to 0% This will embed all glyphs in the export, regardless of whether they were used or not . The PDF Font Properties will show embedded, and create a larger file than the subset version.

This is not a specific question, rather looking for ideas on possible ways to handle the following scenario. I have created a PDF that automates the task of printing variable data for labels. User selects from a drop down, which will produce results in three additional fields. Select: Option 1 > Results: A,C,D Select: Option 2 > Results: B,E,F Select: Option 3 > Results: A,C,F The above results are performed with a custom calculation script. This functionality works fine. If modifications are necessary to results, this is made to the calculation script. All of the data for Options and Results are in an external spreadsheet. Currently, modifications are made first to the spreadsheet, then communicated, then changes made to the script. So, is there any way to bridge or connect the data from the spreadsheet, into Acrobat, and into the script in some automated manner? This question is open to accomplishing this task outside of Acrobat. Performing the entire task in Excel was considered. TIA for any ideas or thoughts.

I just tested my suggestion, and here's what I found: form fields can be hidden and not printable. But, when made visible, they also become printable. I have created a workaround that can be done with in Acrobat. Here is a link to the file I worked, download first and view in Acrobat or Reader.

I don't think this javascript is necessary to accomplish what you want. I think it can be done with form field properties, that will allow you to make fields visible, but not printable. Can you post the PDF or facsimile ?
