Some specific info being looked for (and some that may not be clear from the LrC /Help/System Info):   What hard drives, internal and external do you have? What hard drive is your catalog on? On that hard drive, how much free space? Looking for at least 25% On What hard drive is your Camera RAW CACHE on? How large do you let the Camera RAW CACHE get? (LrC /Preferences/performance/), Looking for at least  20GB On what hard drive (probably C) is your Windows Paging File How large do you let the Windows Paging file get (likely you accept the Windowsd OS default of Windows determining) In LrC /Catalog Settings/ Metadata/ do you Automatically write Changes into XMP? (most of us do not) As you have a laptop, your Windows Power Settings may not be able to tweak out to High Performance, but what do you have? Is this answer to monthly vs annual payment dependant upon market? I do not have a link, a reference, to support this. But some in the past advised to not select the integrity check at closure at/before backup, and to instead check integrity occasionally before or part of opening a catalog. Issue is/was if the integrity check failed, or even damaged the catalog, it would still continue on with the backup, potentially creating a damaged backup, and a useful error message may not appear.   You may want to see if closing LrC with backup but without integrity does not give you that error.   Point being, is LrC closure causing this, or backup causing this, or theintegrity check causing this. If the latter, is the catalog getting corrupt.   And you may want to accomplish anintegrity check upon opening the catalog. Thank you Rikk. But, no sir. I have now waited 24 hours to try again and while copy/paste is now working, the time it takes for an image to come into view is an average of 5 minutes per image and awaiting the white balance, exposure, etc options to generate as functional. Taking 5 minutes for an image to come into view is not normal. When you create your post, include a description of the problem, and a workflow of how the problem occurs. Your attached video is very poor.   Just what app are you using, apparently to import from the Cloud? When the video moves onto LrC, it does not show enough of the LrC Import screen to figure out what is going wrong. I for one need to see more of the screen.   In the left side panels, where are you importing from In the top panels, are you attempting to Copy, Copy as DNG, Move, or Add? In the right side panels, do you have Don't Import Suspected Duplicates checked? interesting to me that i had previosly done a LRC uninstall and reinstall through the creative cloud app but this apparently doesn't really uninstall previous files that may be problematic/corrupted and left behind in successive updates and installs. By naldeau49     Yes, the Adobe Tech probably used the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, as the normal OS uninstall, or the Creative Cloud Uninstall does not exactly get everything.   Incomplete Download   What do you mean by Download? To most of us the word download refers to a process on the Internet, to download from the Internet, files. In LrC most of us refer to the word Import. Now if you stored the photos on the cloud before using LrC, then yes, you could download (or sync). Now if you were using Lr, then you could upload to the cloud. to the Lr Album.   Perhaps I am being a pest, pickle about download vs import, but are we talking about the same software and same process??   I"m hoping so because I erased the card after each day)   Where do you keep the backups of your original photos? And I hope that you create those backups at the outset, certainly before deleting from the card.   There is no fail safe.   Sure their is, Create backups before being destructive. Do not delete from that card until at least two backups exist in addition to the initial import (most would go with 3, as in 3-2-1 strategy). And do that ASAP as one should never ever trust a memory card, and as you should always assume a memory card is going to fail. 3 days of shooting. Typically under 5500 images per day. That is a HUGE number f photos to import. When you import do you select COPY, Copy as DNG, or Add? IMO, you should select ADD, that gets the images from the memory card to the hard drive in the shortest amopunt of time, and is not dependant upon LrC. And you might consider creating the backups at that point, before moving on to LrC Import. You use your OS File Manger to accomplish that. Then you use LrC to Import via ADD. Perhaps with minimum preview creation, etc. To get them into that catalog quickest.   If I was at say Yosemite National Park, and took hundred's of photos that Day, I would start the copy from my SD card to my hard drive, and go out to dinner, when I come back, I would create my first backup, Then I might bring up LrC and Import with minimum previews, likely no develop presets, just enough so I could do a bit of review.       ...
