I see that you are selecting ADD as the import method. Following is not likely, but worth a try. Select just one photo to import. Change the method from Add to Copy. Pay close attention to the destination. Either attempt an import accepting that destination, or if you think it might be wrong, then change it, and test that import. Remember, that destination would be whatever was selected previously, if that destination got moved/deleted/renamed outside of LrC, then an error when importing via Copy should occur, But it might not occur if import via Add even though it should not matter.   I give this less than  a 5% chance of being the issue.   Typically this does not result in a crash, just a failed import with no error message.     ... This goes back many LrC versions, back to when using the GPU first started showing up as an option. At some point after the initial inclusion by Adobe for that option, older GPU's showed crashes if using that option. I am surprised it has taken till v14.2 for that to appear. It sounds like in your import process that you have selected Add, as opposed to Copy, or Copy as DNG. Ok.   If that is the case, then try this; select one image to import, change the method to Copy, the over in the Destination, change that from whatever is shown to a different folder, and import..   If that works, then go back and select another image to import, but change the method back to Add, and import.   If that works, then you are probably good to continue.   Possible issue is a previous destination got changes/renamed/moved/deleted, and LrC had an issue despite selecting Add. I am having issues coming up with a link to reinforce this, but.. Some members have had issues post LrC v14.1 (do I have the ver correct?) when attempting to import photos and videos at the same time. The have to import them separately. And they may even have issues if the source includes both stills and videos even if they only select the stills (some confusion on that)   Apparently not fixed   You might try importing separately (using a separate USB port may have been a coincidence)   P.S. not a MAC user, but on a Windows PC, the various USB ports are not equal,, front ones normally less capable.    ... Does your home LAN consist of only a WiFi Router? No Ethernet ports? No Ethernet switches? Providing connectivity thru WiFi only? And is that a limitation via NBN? That is assuming your access is via NBN. If the NBN provides only a WiFi router (as in no Ethernet) can you change that out to better?   The moreI search the Internet on Home LAN in Australia, and as a result NBN, the more I see that you should be able to have a nice LAN with proper switches. So why in your case WiFi only?   WiFi is a bottleneck, and the more devices connected, the slower, this sort of activity should be via Ethernet, as Ethernet switches handle that better.       ... You have the default setting for Camera RAW CACHE of 5GB. Adobe states that is too low and to select 20GB at least. This is probably not causing your problem, it will effect develop module performance.   Ans fix that GPU driver. ... View more

In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.
