Had you been running Windows OS I would inquire about your screen resolution, is that an issue resulting in the right side being cut off. But that is not so applicable to MACOS. And I also think as Johan Elzenga has pointed out, consider resetting the preference file. Items falling off the right side panels, are often due to a corrupt preference file. Their are several Discussions in the community as such.

I have created this discussion post to inquire about 24H2. I am looking for comments and links to documents. So, MS appears to be now rolling out the 24H2 update. The question is, should we? Should LrC users trust this Windows update, or wait for more bugs to be fixed? Yes, some members may have new computers that already have this version. But many of those members with 24H2 have WOS/CoPilot/ARM Devices and are having issues not because of 24H2, but due to a lack of current Adobe support for those computers. But what about members having Windows 11 version 23H2 and older? Wait for further bug fixes? Wait for Adobe to state ready to go (I do not remember them ever doing so on previous OS updates). Does anyone who has updated the OS regret doing so?

What about your Windows Paging file? Do you let Windows adjust that automatically, or have you decreased it, and perhaps even if you did not change the default, maybe it needs to be increased???? How to manage virtual memory on Windows 11 From: P: (Win) Consumes RAM during import and fails to release afterwards "Jim23729369r346 I have a very similiar configuration except running Win11 with very similiar memory problem. It is related to masks in develop mode. My workaround was to look at the pagefile allocation and found that it was set to low values. I have let Windows automatically manage the pagefile which has stopped the crashes although the underlying memory problem is still there. If the pagefile is manually managed it should be at least 1.5 times the amount of real memory, ie, at least 48GB on a 32GB machine and it should be on a SSD, but not the same SSD as the catalogue. The jury is still out but my machine as not crashed since making this change."

Camera: Fujifilm GFX 100 II so, from: https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/products/cameras/gfx100-ii/specifications/ File Format Of Still Image (RAW): 14bit / 16bit RAW (RAF original format) File Format Of Still Image (HEIF): HEIF 4:2:2 10 Bit File Format Of Still Image (JPEG): JPEG Exif v2.32 File Format Of Still Image (TIFF): TIFF 8bit/16bit (in camera conversion) File Format Of Still Image (DCF): DCF2.0 Now, I do not think that the RAF is HDR, but what about the HEIF? I state that because in the Adobe document, For some Canon, and some Sony, the HEIF is mentioned as supported: And looking at Canon System Info, the HEIF appears to be same spec (4:2:2 10 Bit) https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/hdr-output.html#enable-hdr-output\

Incomplete Download What do you mean by Download? To most of us the word download refers to a process on the Internet, to download from the Internet, files. In LrC most of us refer to the word Import. Now if you stored the photos on the cloud before using LrC, then yes, you could download (or sync). Now if you were using Lr, then you could upload to the cloud. to the Lr Album. Perhaps I am being a pest, pickle about download vs import, but are we talking about the same software and same process?? I"m hoping so because I erased the card after each day) Where do you keep the backups of your original photos? And I hope that you create those backups at the outset, certainly before deleting from the card. There is no fail safe. Sure their is, Create backups before being destructive. Do not delete from that card until at least two backups exist in addition to the initial import (most would go with 3, as in 3-2-1 strategy). And do that ASAP as one should never ever trust a memory card, and as you should always assume a memory card is going to fail. 3 days of shooting. Typically under 5500 images per day. That is a HUGE number f photos to import. When you import do you select COPY, Copy as DNG, or Add? IMO, you should select ADD, that gets the images from the memory card to the hard drive in the shortest amopunt of time, and is not dependant upon LrC. And you might consider creating the backups at that point, before moving on to LrC Import. You use your OS File Manger to accomplish that. Then you use LrC to Import via ADD. Perhaps with minimum preview creation, etc. To get them into that catalog quickest. If I was at say Yosemite National Park, and took hundred's of photos that Day, I would start the copy from my SD card to my hard drive, and go out to dinner, when I come back, I would create my first backup, Then I might bring up LrC and Import with minimum previews, likely no develop presets, just enough so I could do a bit of review.

LRC won't retain in preferences anything I put in, all goes back to default. Do you store presets with catalog? If so, did the upgrade foul that up and the new upgraded catalog does not, or is located away from where those presets are stored??? Another member had that issue.

Huhhh??? Per: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/system-requirements.html The MACOS requirement is macOS Ventura (version 13.1) or later, So LrC v14.1 should wotk on Ventura 13.7.1. If you open an existing catalog and you get an error that the catalog is too new, then you hve an old LrC version, and a new LeC catalog. Do you have more than one computer and are you attempting to open a catalog on an external hard drive that both computers can use? Perhaps with different LrC versions? Do you somehow have two copy's of LrC on one computer? (new version and old version like v13 and v14) LrC v14 will start to open a v13 catalog, it will upgrade it, winding up with a new catalog. LrC v13 cannot open a v14 catalog.

Ah that screenshot helps. I completely misunderstood. Bring up a photo in the develop module, and over in the Presets Panel, click on the + symbol as to Manage the presets. Did many get unchecked? /Edit/Followup/ Yes, if you stored your presets with the catalog, and then the file with the stored presets is missing, then what you are seeing could be caused by the stored presets going missing. Did the folder location for the current catalog change? Could you copy from the previous folder to the new folder (the presets) if that is the case. Or perhaps the preference file is corrupt.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post. Also large amounts of text in a post also render the Translate function inoperable...

To: naldeau49 "sheesh, what a friggin' disappointment. the installed update which is called 14.1 release did not fix the copy/paste settings bug" Have you given Adobe a Chat? Contact Adobe. This via a Chat. Before doing so, prepare your notes and information ahead of time as to be more efficient in communicating. Your info that you have posted in your Discussion is a start for the description, and probably have a copy of your LrC /Help/System Info/ as a text document on hand, so that you can paste or attach that into the chat. To accomplish the Chat, bring up an Adobe webpage, and click on the Chat button. (see image below) This will start a Chat. At first the Chat will be with a chatbot, Typing “Agent” into the chat text field will bypass the initial chatbot. If an agent does not enter the chat then be assertive in requesting an actual Adobe Tech join in the chat. In the Chat include (as mentioned above) a description of the issue, and probably your System Info. And include a link to your discussion. You may want to ask for a phone call. And please keep notes so that you can share them in your post for others to see. For example, bring up: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and click on the Chat button, typically found in bottom right corner

Your smartphone (or camera) recording of that LrC screen, is basically useless. I cannot actually describe how bad due to community guidelines (language) It appears you have Windows. See the following on how to record in Windows 11: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/learning-center/how-to-record-screen-windows-11 Ok, one thing I think I can see in that video is that you are selecting ADD. An old, never documented bug that can occur is an oddity where using Add fails to provide an error message when a very specific issue previously occurred, That being the destination in a previous import was change outside of LrC (a folder moved, renamed, or deleted). Had you attempted COPY, a helpful error message may occur, but oddly not if you use Add. This is odd as the destination should not matter with ADD, but... What you can attempt is to try and import one photo via Copy, making sure to change the destination before clicking on Import. Then try an import again via Add. This should no longer be a bug, should have been fixed, but... I give this about a 10% chance of being your issue.

Time Machine may not be the best way to backup a LrC catalog, or the Photos. At the very least you may be backing up to the same hard drive as your working files. Backup practices should be based on 3-2-1 concept, Backup to two different media plus one off site media. Typically two hard drives (including external, and can include NAS) other than the hard drive the working files are on, and one off site hard drive (that you ship off site) or the cloud.

When I open LRc it will force close immediately I try to work on an image; even if I do nothing an error will occur and the system will close. Ok, please clarify, does LrC barely start, and as soon as you attempt to edit an image it closes, or perhaps it barely starts then after a few seconds it closes. OR does it not start at all.

What part of starting LrC is slow, is it: Getting pass the splash screen, ending with "Reading preferences" Is that last bit slow? After the splash screen, slow to bring up the appropriate Module?
