Hello Rob, depending on the image and the complexity of the background and contrast between the two will determine the workflow you adopt. This will require a little bit more input and research regarding selections and how to achieve them for this post/forum. What I suggest you do is google how to make selections and remove backgrounds and also what format to save the file that will support transparency. I am sure that YouTube will have a huge Library of videos in this regard. But I think maybe you dont know the keyboard and drag combinations and thats why you have that strange pen setup. if you press ALT+CTRL and drag the brush horizontal you adjust the brush size, dragging vertical will adust the hardness. Hi, you will have to do it manually, Select the spot channel contract the selection to allow for trapping (IMPORTANT) and then use the selection to mask the underneath layer. This is very strange, and what you're trying to do does not even take a lot of computer resources so shouldn't be a performance issue. I have replicated exactly what you're doing with absolutely no problems. Can you post a screenshot of how you are initially creating the document. Also in your preferences your scratch disk etc info. Hi, i am confused. You mention you go to object>group>merge* not sure what you mean exactly!? Pathfinder merge as mentioned by Met is something else and needs to have filled paths. (basically when you use Pathfinder merge it takes all the shapes and cut them neatly keeping them fitting together like a puzzle). Looking through your screenshots I cannot see the Pathfinder tool icon or the panel open anywhere. If indeed so that you are using the Pathfinder tools, are you sure that you are not using the incorrect one for example unite in the shape modes. Hi again, I suspect you have miss-givings of what you can do interactively using InDesign and outputting to a PDF. It wasn't hundred percent clear to me from the original post what you are trying to achieve. Yes you can use list and combo boxes etc but there is a big difference between ePub output and PDF. (eg animation) The interactive content as per your examples with the two men, you would need to create a page for each option. So it would look like when you click price the menu item expands to show the two pricing structures and the red triangle to flip all with the relevent hyperlinks etc. You cannot create HTML style menus but you can fake it. ok, holding ALT/OPTION and clicking done should close the current image and not open another. It sounds as if your downloader is set to open images in photoshop and of course if they are raw images camera raw opens up. Just make sure to change or check the settings.
