If the programs are from 2007 they are probably Lightroom 1 and Elements 6 or close and probably will not install and/or run on your new Macbook Pro but you could always download Lightroom from the link Jim provided and try.

Everything is not there. The bar above the thumbs and below the toolbar is missing and the top of the thumbs are cut off. There is another thread on this I didn't look for but I think there was no resolution of the problem.

I think there are TWO different problems being discussed on this thread which should be split into two different threads. One is Photoshop not opening up ever and the other is your problem and the original topic of the thread. The original topic, the opening of layers worked previous to 6.7 so it is just a new bug as acknowledged. The other problem of Photoshop not ever opening is a longer standing problem for some people and is apparently what Simon is referring to above. Hopefully Simon is working on the original problem also.

Simon, Thanks for the reply. Have you tried to recreate the problem at Adobe? If you have tried and can not recreate the problem I will try the reinstall. Reinstalls rarely fix things. I use a Mac and Just Shoot Me uses Windows so it should be easy to recreate. Open as Layers, Pano and HDR doesn't open Photoshop if it is closed but Edit in Photoshop and Open as a Smart Object does open Photoshop if it is closed. The strange thing is the operation is pending because if you manually open Photoshop the pre-existing command completes for the three that don't work.

Using Lightroom CC2015.7 and Photoshop CC2015.5.1 1 )If Photoshop is CLOSED and then I "Open as Layers ....." the computer will just sit there doing nothing. If I click Photoshop to open it then the operation will complete and the photos will be layered. I THINK THIS IS BUGGY BEHAVIOR
As a side note, this BUG affects the Panorama and HDR the same way. Photoshop has to be opened manually. The "Open as Smart Object works correctly.
2) If Photoshop is OPEN and then I "Open as Layers ...." the photos will open as layers in Photoshop
3 )If Photoshop is CLOSED and I "Edit in Adobe Photoshop ..." Photoshop will open and the two photos are loaded as separate objects. This is the expected behavior.
I think this is a change in behavior in Lightroom CC2015.7

Adjust the white balance on the RAW in DPP before you export it to a TIFF. This way you will have the full advantage of the RAW data for the white balance. This is the same problem with trying to adjust white balance in a JPG.

Create a new preset with an UNUSUAL name. Search for this preset in Finder. Make sure you search System files. Right click this file in finder and do "Show In Enclosing Folder". This will determine where your presets are located.

Thanks Steve I just posted similar results a few seconds ago and concur with your findings on what area the WB tool is using to set the WB when you click. This may not be considered a bug but it is an unintuitive design.

I agree the sample area for the number display "in the tool" is a 5x5 grid no matter what size the grid is but the WB set when you click is set from the 17X17 (or other) size grid. You can easily test this by setting the tool to 5x5 and set the WB, do a CTRL-Z and then set the tool to 17x17 and set the WB. (the tool is NOT moved}. The WB numbers for the two sizes in the Develop Panel will be different if your sample area has a lot of changes. If this is by design it is very unintuitive. Beings Lr is reading the pixels from the larger tool to set the WB it should be easy to reflect this is the numbers the WB tool is displaying when the size is changed.

Continuing our discussion from the above forum link, Steve indicated that the white balance tool only displays the value for ONE pixel where the eyedropper is at. I created a photoshop white square with a single black pixel to test. The wb tool displays the values for a 5X5 sample and not just a single pixel. Unfortunately it also displays the 5X5 sample if the tool is set for 17x17. At least is uses the 17x17 sample for setting the WB when it is clicked. This should be considered a bug or at least a bad design.

My system info is 2015 Imac I7 16gb ram SSD OSX 10.11.6 LrCC2015.6.1 2010 Imac 8gb ram Spinner HD Recently did a CLEAN install of 10.11.6 and only programs are Photoshop CC and LrCC2015.6.1 Both machines will reproduce the problem EVERY time I try it. At least the work-around is very easy : )

Hi Victoria, I am using OS X 10.11.6 and LrCC 2015.6.1. As you can see from the link I provided it apparently happens on Windows too. I just did a computer restart and it still happen on a TOTALLY REPEATABLE basis. There are several threads where the adjustment brush stops working and is NOT related to flow/density. In this case you can not even select an existing brush dot or create a new brush area.

I have created a NEW post because of the MANY other posts about this problem. I have seen several posts on the Lightroom forum and this Photoshop Family forum of the adjustment brush stops working. Many of these were unsolved. A recent post on the Lightroom forum has a REPEATABLE scenario to make the adjustment brush stop working. See here in posts #9, 10 and 11 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2082068 The scenario is as follows and as the forum post shows happens on Windows and Mac. Use the Adjustment Brush Remove any photo - chose Delete from Disk Adjustment brush stops working (no new pins, can't select old pins, nothing in history) Select Spot Tool and create random spot/heal and immediately delete spot/heal Select Adjustment Brush and the Adjustment Brush will start working again. This behavior is completely REPEATABLE.

If the Photo Overlays are PNG files with transparency than you can use Lightrooms "Identity Plate" and/or "Graphic Watermark" to print or print to file with these overlays. I have used the Identity Plate as an overlay several times and it works well on a limited basis but Photoshop/Elements would be the better solution if you are going to do this a lot See here how to do this.
