Using the Community

I have read up about eimporting and exporting keywords in bridge, but |I still have a question and hope I can get some help.If I say have a folder of jpegs and they are all completely keyworded, titled and described.... how do i go about transferring this data to say another folder of similar jpegs or even psds in a different directory/folder without selecting individual files and copying and pasting inf?Is this possible ?TksDon

Well, it looks like the maintenance last night broke the ability to attach a JPG image directly to a post. Sizes are well within both pixel dimensions and also file size. Tried with a .PNG of the same ones.Note that they will still Attach from the lower-left of the editing screen, and can be opened, but the "camera" icon attachment is now broken.Fix one thing, and break others,Hunt

I've been a CS fan for years, and even liked the Elements for my laptop.  SoI was using CS3 on my aging HP (with XP/SP3), tried to transfer it to my new Dell.  Bought a Dell m435mt (i7-920) and have 12 Gb DDR3 1333 RAM with an ATI 4850 HD 512 Mb (DDR3) card, Vista Home Premium.  I wanted to upgrade to CS4, but the CS3 refusted to transfer to Vista.  Contacted Tech Support at Adobe, and was told there was not yet support for Vista Premium.  Later, I got a routine download or two, and still no luck transferring.  It would not go on my Vista laptop either.  As a result, I chose not to upgrade to CS4.  I have upgraded to Photoshop Elements 8 from 7, and generally like it for the things I commonly do with photos.  Having lost my photography business (not Adobe's fault), I'll stick with Elements.  Then in October, I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems.  CS3 still wouldn't install.  During the Elements upgrade, Adobe

I just branched 404 errors on first visit to forums from the Attach Image Not Working - 11-17-09 thread. It appears that the reply count on the new thread is incorrectly set to 0, the reply count on the original thread is not decremented correctly and the original thread is now missing from the list of all threads (though if you know the URL it is still there).

I believe we have just had a downtime. Was it scheduled?

I had several times today, where the Adobe fora went down with a bang.Next thing I knew, I was getting logged-out with about every three posts. This had not been happening, since I migrated to Google Chrome, which also fixed some issues that seem to be at least semi-IE related.I've dumped all cookies four times, and there is no let-up to getting logged-out constantly. When this happens, my alter-ego WAH3 shows up, and I have to log-in back at the Adobe.com page, and THEN navigate to the fora. Before today, I was staying logged-in for about 2 days at a time. Now, it's constant, and I keep getting messages that translate to the forum being dead.Am I the only one, experiencing this, as of today? I see nothing about maintenance, or similar, and worry that now whatever was causing my issues with IE 7 are not manifesting themselves in Chrome.Hunt

I am now allowed to post as my ban has been lifted.  To those that took a stand in my favor I am truly grateful.  Your support and kind words I will always treasure.  I must also acknowledge my appreciation to two of the people that oversee these forums.  I believe it is John and Rick.  It appears that these individuals decided to review my ban and found it not warranted.  I sincerely thank both of you.  I I do, however, want it known that I am not celebrating a PARDON, as that would indicate that I have been guilty of some offense but was forgiven.  I still maintain that I did nothing wrong and that I was unfairly banned without any warning. Just got acknolwedgement from Jive that it is a bug in the text editor that is still being worked on.Can you give me details on the block quote issue? I tried going through some of the other threads, but there is too much noise to find the actual issues.Also looking for more info on the 404 errors. Since the update from 2.5.7 to 2.5.16 the HTML as returned by the webservices is broken for messags that include inline images. Instead of a proper location in the src attribute of the img tag (like src="http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/9984/Firefox-request3.png"), they now supply a partial URL in the src attribute (like src="firedog.png"), which can not be retrieved because the URL is incomplete.

As I wrote here 81., this morning I started receiving what I now see are email notifications of messages posted in that thread, starting with, and including, my own message #79. Computer is an Apple C5 Desktop, OS 10.5.8, Dual 2.7 GHz, PowerPC, 3.5 GB DDR SDRAM.I am using Adobe C3 applications which now requires updates.  When an Adobe product needs an update, a notification update dialog appears.  I click ok to download and install Adobe Updates to all my products.  I reviewed the Preferences that indicates all the C3's and a number of others applications.  I click continue and downloading begins.  Installation did not seem to occur or at least there is/was no indication of it other than noticing a percent of completion happening.The problem is that this process continues and continues and continues over and over each and every time I clicked continue.When I was able to review the preferences again, I deselected all applicable downloads.  I rthen clicked continue.  Unfortunately the processes continued and continued and continued each time I clicked continue to download but not install to the best of my knowledge.There were

1. Browse Forums button doesn't work! I tried both Mozilla and Safari.2. While browsing the forums in advanced search window, Mozilla doesn't let me find the needed word by typing in the first letter. I have to go to Safari to do it.3. Since the list in the search window is so fuzzy, with no distinguished main themes (you can at least make them bold), without any clear alphabetic order, with all subthemes always expanded, it becomes really frustrating to find what you need!3. If I want to make an advanced search after while browsing the forums, I have to open a new search window, then select the needed forums again and again. Why is it so difficult to make the advanced search options expandable under the search button at all times? And to be able to remember the selection. Also if I am in a specific forum, I should have an immediate option to search that active forum without selecting it again from the list. That's how normal forums work.4. Adobe had a gold mine. Their product fora filled the gap that their outsourced T/S and C/S were no longer filling.Many users realized that there was a much greater liklihood that almost any problem, with any Adobe program, could be solved by the fora, and by the users. I have even recommended such for years, even back when Adobe T/S was a different animal.Now, as of Black Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, with the "maintenance" work, these fora are nearly useless. Many of us have lost the ability to use the "camera" icon to attach an image to a post. The "automatic" line break is a real problem. It now comes long after several lines of text have been typed, and is never where any editor would place it. The "block quotes," that only work every third, or fourth time, all contribute to users not wanting to bother with helping all the other users.This has become a very bad joke by Adobe. I am considering just giving up helping others, and letting them contact Adobe T/S for everything. Let all the use
