Is it just me (or my browser), or does UPDATE not always seem to.. you know.. update? I don't think it's a browser refresh issue, even refreshing doesn't seem to fix it when I see this happen.I think it happens more when the server is actually responding pretty fast (rare) and I click edit soon after a post, then "update", and... no change--even after a refresh. Second edit usually fixes it, but needless to say, that is crap.At first I thought I might be hitting cancel or something but it's happened to me SO many times, so regularly..I actually got used to it. And I'm pretty sure I am hitting the "UPDATE" button anyway.
I have just read through the acrimonious debate headed Just in case, which has highlighted another shortcoming in the implementation of email notifications. At http://forums.adobe.com/message/2289878 , John Joslin starts off saying I find it a pain to have to read through your long and rambling homilies... But there is no way to work out from the email who he's complaining about, and it could be any one of the contributors to that thread. Until proper headers are introduced, would it be possible to include in the email a reference to the post (message no.) being replied to? That would make far more sense than the current line reading This message was sent to: ..., which doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know.Noel
Not sure if this has been mentioned before. But can a feature be added where one can go into their account and access the last (say 10-20) posts (notice the keyword posts, not threads) they have made? This is a very common feature that ALL other forums I have been on offer. And NO do NOT suggest email subscriptions. I do not want my email flooded with useless junk from here or any other site. If I want to follow up on a post, I want to find it myself and check back in on it. I do not want to see EVERY post that is added to a thread as many may possibly be quite useless cluttering up my inbox.
Why, when I click on a Last Post link on a forum page, do I sometimes get a request to launch an Application Octet Stream from adobe?
I am using Firefox 3.5 and when I want to view a forum conversation as a PDF I get a blank screen.(On right side of screen it says Actions - click "view as PDF")But, if I use Firefox's IE rendering I get the viewable PDF.Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Does Adobe really need up to a day to approve my download order? While other online software sellers speed the process (Instant download with my purchase) why is Adobe moving backwards or rather, slow on the uptake. Good grief!
buying adobe premiere pro cs3 - how can you tell from the numbers on the packaging if it is a full version (commercial) or educational or just an upgrade, I was on hold for nearly 2 hours with adobe customer service and nobody picked up.cheers

Can someone tell me why when installing web premium, only half the programs such as ,Dreamweaver Iillistrator and Cue are not loading from the disc. So far i have uninstalled every Adobe product with three different uninstall(as recommended by i am guessing India) ran clean script, made a new account and tried to reinstall with no luck. Why should it be this hard to install a plug and play program. at this point i am losing so much time=money , that i would settle to just get back a refund which is apparently not an option. It just amazes me that such a so called advanced software developer can not get things right. and on top of that ....will not back up a product with a warranty.
Hi All!Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I am not sure where to post it....I recently purchased a copy of Adobe CS4 Production Premium as I was looking for Premiere and After Effects in particular. However, I already have a CS4 Design Premium package installed on my computer. Can I install only part of the Production Premium (ie, Premiere and After Effects) on the same computer? It seems that the license/activation keys for these bundled packages are for the entire package, not the individual programs....Just curious.Thanks!-Rowen
I wanted to reply to the Why not have options of downloading older versions topic, but as so many others in this forum, it had been closed.I don't want to go into the reasons why sometimes users may need an older software version; just that legitimate 3rd-party download sites sometimes do offer older software versions, e.g. CNET Download.com. Just go to the software you are looking for, page down to the bottom where it says Previous Versions, then select the version you want to download.[I know that this topic does not logically belong in this forum; it's just that the original topic mentioned above was started and discussed here.]
Several months ago, Kath started a thread with this title, in which a large number of suggestions were posted. I posted the one reproduced here, with what could have been taken as an excellent adaptation of it: 18.Unfortunately, the change has not been permanent, but intermittent. In other words, some days it is there, some days it isn't (right now, it isn't). When it is, it is a great help if one is looking for an old thread in a long forum, as one doesn't have to move one page at a time, which is specially painful if one opens a wrong thread and has to start all over again from Page 1. I wonder if it would be too difficult to make it permanent.I kept the name of Kath's original topic because I thought that it could be interesting to know how many of the suggestions for small improvements made there have been implemented. And I also thought that the easiest way of finding out would be for each poster to check what happened with his/her idea(s) (some users provided long lists of sugges
I am currently using Photoshop CS2 and PageMaker 7 on a XP machine. I plan on buying a new Windows 7 machine and putting the old machine out of its misery. My plan is to upgrade to the "Creative Suite 4 Design Standard." The question is, will I be able to install the Suite onto the new machine with out first installing the older software? Would really like a clean install of all the new programs and not have any of the old ever set foot on the new system. Any comments on this??
Still getting this sometimes when clicking the time of the last post. I think JC said he thought he knew what the problem might be?
Why can't U delete your own email in thread? New people don't realize that if they respond upon receiving an emailnotification from the forum, that if they respond directly from their email itself, their email will appear in the forum thread. When realizing that they should have responded to the link to the forum thread it is too late. I see no way thento rectify this mistake. I am of the opinion that the person should be able to delete their own email address from theirown response they have made on the thread. After all, it is their email address that is at risk; I'm not asking to delete anyone else's. Thank you for any response
Suddenly, this morning, I am "Unauthorized" to create a New Discussion. Please fix this.
Here is a link on your site: http://www.adobe.com/products/studio/index.html. I post it for two reasons, one being that the link is for a product that Adobe no longer sells. The other reason is that I can't see why Adobe doesn't offer the opportunity to purchase older versions of their software. I have an admittedly older computer (2000 Mac) that continues to serve me well. I would like to be able to buy a newer version of Adobe software than what I have, but because Adobe doesn't offer this option on their site, my only other option is buying used or possibly counterfeit software from Ebay. I have put off buying a newer version of software for the same reason that most people do: I can't afford it. I don't have 2 grand for CS4 and my computer can't run it anyway, but it can run CS2 or possibly CS3. So wouldn't it be better for Adobe to keep offering products for older computers?Laugh if you want about my old machine, but I have used PCs and Macs professionally over the years as a web
First, JayJhabrix got banned from posting...Now it's Jhabrix that's banned... and not a by your leave nor explanation! In neither case was a message sent giving a warning of any kind nor a reason for the inability to post.Someone is getting very personal and, for some reason, 'Jhabrix' seems to be like a red flag to a bull! I wonder how long:1/ This post / thread will last2/ How long it will be before this avatar of Jhabrix is banned!!And, if any moderator chooses to read between the lines, you'll realise this post very much is a comment on the Forums and on this Forum.
Well, about 4:15PM AZT (PDT now), the forum has hit the performance wall.Pages take about 10 mins. to load, and many of the editing features just will not work. Scheduled maintenance?Glad that I got most of my work done earlier.Hunt
What's it based on? As of this morning, I am above someone who has 100 more points than I do.Is it just based on post count or is there some secret Adobe judge, reading everyone's posts?
One would tend to assume that the time shown in these forums (for example, the posting times) refer to the USA, although this could be wrong. However, there are (I think) four different time zones in that country. Maybe for the natives it is quite clear what "8:13 AM" means, but it is not at all clear for at least this one inhabitant of another country. Even acronyms such as EPT (I am not sure if I recall this correctly from the old forums) don't mean much to me.Wouldn't it be a good idea to specify in some clear way what time being used in these forums?
I want to upload a custom Avatar, but when I do It tells me I have to delete some of my other custom Avatars which there aren't any.Any ideas?TIAChris
Hi Folks.Ok so I've done a little research, so far the upgrade sounds like it's getting some positive feedback, with very little problems. The only problems with the Windows 7 upgrade with CS4 are:-CS4 Setup Discs will not launch - but downloaded "trial" setup files from Adobe's website will install no problem-There is an issue with Dreamweaver launching and occasionally eating up memory for a few seconds, then releasing-There is no codec for Photoshop - so .psd icons are not visable-Photoshop launches automatically in 64 bit modeI'm curious if there are any Adobe folks (or community experts) out there who have updates on these issues, and if there are any issues that I've missed?I've purchased the W7 upgrade and will install it in a couple of weeks when it is released - I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to dig myself into a hole by installing the upgrade. I know that Adobe developers can't snap their fingers and make things change overnight, but if anyone who has in
