I might be missing something, but how can I paste into this box? I see that people are doing it somehow. I would like to be able to paste snippets of code that relate to my questions. Is there a tutorial on posting? Thanks,Mark
I'm working on a project and I do lots of research in threads that may be helpful to me. When I come across one with good information, I like to print them out and put them in my reference notebook. I try both view as PDF and Print Preview, sometimes it works, but mostly it freezes up and kicks me out of the forum.I log in through Firefox on a windows system. How can I print the threads I want to save?Thank you in advance.Patty
I created my website, previewed it and then uploaded it to my server. It looks fine in Safari but everything displays backwards in Internet Explorer (it's a total mirror image). Can anyone tell me why and how I can fix it?www.intown-creative.comThanks!
As requested, a thread for annoying little things that we hope can be easily fixed - not the biggies like failing to go back to where you last read, being logged out mid-post, lack of NNTP etc - just niggly little things.
Now since Macromedia acquired Adobe, the website and forums have become a visually cluttered nightmare. I'm sure if they try even more sh!t can be jammed into the pages which still have way too much white space. they must not be trying hard enough.Am I the only one who finds this new look is getting uglier and uglier?
More and more, of late, i'm beginning to see the futility of posting here. Initially, from some members, there was sarcasm... later it became absurdity... none of which detracts from the simple fact that these Jive ACE forums (fora) are a bunch of excreta. (One can't even do a simple cut and paste in the message box without getting into gymnastics.)It's also quite clear that nothing is going to change or improve – very much – for the better. John C made it quite clear in his progress report when he spoke about fiddling with minor issues. To wit:1/ NNTP is gone. With it, i suspect, the backbone of contribution to the Adobe forums2/ The points system is here to stay. Live with it, ignore it, lust after it, die by it... whatever... It's immaterial.3/ The Question Answered excreta is here to stay. (For comments, please see latter half of 2/ above.)4/ There will be no 'memory' of last visited posts in a thread. Your option will be simple and comprise of two: a/ Start
hey steve, please stop posting what ever way you do that causes the repeating post bug in other forums. if adobe is working on it and you want to continue to post via that method in THIS forum to help them out, so be it, but you're ruining long lived threads in other forums (the lounge for starters), and it's quite annoying.by all means, if you want to participate in the goofiness of the lounge, i for one encourage you to continue to post there using the web interface until this topic destroying bug is sorted out.thanks man, i appreciate it, dave
Apart from this whole mess of abuse report and perfectly innocent posts getting deleted, we also have the problem of hosts moderators deciding on the poster's behalf if questions have been answered! Crikey!I posted a query in the DW forum. Ploughed my way through the search... found a couple of solutions from a particular ACE and posted those findings back with my comments on whether they were working or not.My third post (including the OP) was to the tune that on a quick and dirty test the last solution seemed to be working and describing what it was doing. No way, as far as i was concerned was the problem completely resolved.Lo and behold! This morning i see the thread marked answered! "Ididn't do that", says me. Open it and at the top it says, "Possibly answered". The moderator has a comment that as i seem to have found the answer he's marking it 'Possibly answered'. Freaked! But politely asked said moderator to kindly unmark it and i would mark it when i was satisfied. What is going
My problem is that InDesign is too smart and tries to make too many decisions without me. Issue 1:I have text in frames throughout a document. As I go through line by line altering the kerning and word breaks at the column edge (editing for aesthetics and readability), sometimes the changes I make affect lines behind me (upstream, so to speak). This in turn makes me have to go backwards and look for errors that this has caused. Is there a way to manually override this, so that any changes I make will only alter downstream text? Or better yet, will only affect text I've highlighted?Issue 2:The last line of a paragraph is sucked from column 1 to column 2, even though there is ample space for this line at the bottom of column 1. When I increase the size of the text box, to allow the line to be pulled back to column 1, it won't go until the text box is large enough to incorporate the first line of the next paragraph (and the blank line between the paragraphs). So ra
Hello:I am currently creating a form on a webpage using Adobe Dreamweaver. This form is used for users to register for an event and I would like when they are finished filling out the form that the 'Submit' button autmatically sends that information from the form to a default email address. This button would not send the user to Outlook, it would just automatically send the information to the recipient address. I've seen a few websites that have this capability so I'm pretty sure that it is possible to do it, I just don't know how. Much help would be appreciated!!
I am still hoping to wake up one day and find myself in the fair forums, restored or rebuilt, meeting lost friends and being relieved that this is over. While we are here, I am still hoping:That natives still here will persist, and that others will visit from time to time; That the points will go away, their pointlessness and and harmfulness being fully and finally recognized; in the beginning they were supported by a few, and OPs were even urged to use them, but that seems to be over, so that no one wants them and no one will miss them; That there will be breakthroughs to improved pefformance and appearance.
I fired up Safari. Red logo is back on the right, in the search box.No scroll bars, can't go anywhere (of course I had to log in).Quit Safari, start Firefox and come back. Log in again. Logo is back on the left, black bar around 'Forums' is gone. White surround is gone. Links are blue. Firefox crashes. Try again. Crashes again. (Logo was on the left though). Firefox never crashes!Back to Safari. Log in again. Logo is as in the screenshot but at least the scrollbars are back.
Recently, at least four times out of five, Start a Discussion crashes FF.And just before, trying to post a new thread in this forum using the Start a Discussion option, in this forum, the seventh attempt resulted in my looking at a page with the heading Post New Thread in Illustrator.
I have created the following form to be sent to clients.I am a newbie stumbling around in the dark. This form will be used initially by our staff who will access via Adobe Reader. The staff member will type text that is appropriate to the particular client into the following fields:- tnnClientName- freeTrialExpiryDate- tnnClientNameMainContact- dynamic rowHow are these fields locked once populated so that the enduser cannot edit. The staff user will then distribute to the enduser client who will complete the outstanding fields in the document and returns to us via email submit buttonI want this document to return to us as a PDF document.Any help would be appreciated as I am not up on scripting and I copied, pasted and fiddled until I got the dynamic row the way I wanted it (hope it is right)
I simply erroneously purchased a DUPLICATE copy of your software on your web site, and requested a refund for the duplicate copy.Adobe cannot make returns in a good faith and timely fashion. I have sent 5 copies of letters of software destruction with requests for a return via two web portals and fax, and have not received a single email or phone call confirming receipt of the letters, and every time I call adobe customer support i am advised to call back in a week to see if the return has been processed. It has been 3 weeks, and my credit card bill is due.At this point I am forced to request that my bank cancel my payment to adobe due to your inadequate return process. Here are full details of my experience with Adobe Customer support:I requested a refund of software when I mistakenly purchased a duplicate copy of your software. 1. As a professional web developer I must say that these forums are a disgrace. I wouldn't dare sell such a product.
Good day to all! I have a question concerning compatibility. I am a student learning programming and design. I have Adobe CS4 Web Premium bundle on my iMac. I was interested in purchasing the 13” Macbook Pro that was just released to use for school and mobile stuff. I want to install CS4 on it but I noticed that the minimum screen resolution is 1200X900 and the Macbook is only 1200X800. Would this be a problem? I know the screen would be crowded but would the software be able to run. Before I buy I want to be sure. Thanks for any comments in advance.
For a design company Adobe sure has some ugly and bad looks. the new red A is one of them.
I was having trouble with my RAW images not being recognized. Before I could figure out that problem (needed the upgrade) I uninstalled/re-installed CS4 on a Mac. I received a pop up message saying something about duotone not being installed. There was no way i could change that, now when I run CS4 the duotone button is not active, any help is appreciated. Thanks!!
Can any of you webdesign gurus out there identify the style that specifies the line-height of body text in archived posts? Look at this post, for example. It would be much more readable if the line spacing were increased a bit, and if I knew what the style was, I could try and incorporate it into my custom.css for IE7. But because there are so many stylesheets loaded, I haven't managed to find the right one. Remember, 10 points for the first right answer .Or am I trying to do something that can't be done? Noel
This is my recent weeklong experience with tech support re: an upgrade to Dreamweaver CS4:Notes from CustomerThursday, June 18, 2009 11:39:15 AM PDTHi there,I called tech support again today and they transferred me to a "specialist." I had to jump through the same hoops I do every time Icall. Why can't I get a direct line to that dept? And do you not retain information from the previous 10 calls? Anyway, I got directed to an extension and was asked to enter my passcode to enter a conference call...what the hell? What kind of customer support is this? Your whole system is designed to get rid of people. Can you not implement IM or email support that works??Notes from CustomerTuesday, June 16, 2009 12:53:45 PM PDTI haven't gotten any updates on this, can you please advise re: the templates.Notes from CustomerFriday, June 12, 2009 4:35:51 PM PDTI have been on hold for a cumulative 2 hours to talk to someone in the dept for tech support for Dreamweaver. I have been looking for files that I
How do I get this damm thing to work? I can not figure out how to get the download manager to work at all. I have read all the instructions on the website. It makes you feel stupid when something simple should be so easy. I am using Firefox. I d/l JRE. I put all the settings as per the website. When I click on D/l nothing happens. BTW I am trying to d/l a suite. When I try and d/l smaller files it works. What is going on here. I appreciate any help anyone can give me.Thanks,Sean

At the top of the main page of this forum there is a "STICKY TOPICS" box, and the last item in the box is "Report spam in messages". However, on clicking on this item, one is taken to the following locked thread, where it's of course impossible to report anything:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/425273Buko opened a new topic with the same name, and people is using it so, why not change the present useless link to a link to Buko's thread?
