That's made a huge difference over the last few days. Thank you.
Hi. Question for Adobe:Why have so many threats from the [Photoshop >> feature requests] section been deleted, that were posted in the old forum ??It's certainly not a timestamp issue, as there are a lot of postings in [Photoshop >> Windows] which are older.Thank you.
If I start a new discussion or post a reply to an existing discussion via email, I don't get notified of my own post. This is a major drawback, for at least two reasons: (a) There have been plenty of cases where posters have said that they tried to post by email but 'it didn't work'. There could be many reasons why it didn't work (it looks like some of them included the mailto: protocol prefix in the To: address, for example), but not getting notification means that it's impossible to tell whether it worked or not without visiting the website. (b) If and when the engineers manage to tidy up the emails so that some sort of threading in an email client is possible, own posts will be missing. Whatever mechanism one might set up to achieve a newsgroup-type view of a thread will not accommodate messages sent from the client, because the format is entirely different. If the designers thought they'd be helping to minimize clutter by excluding own posts, then in my view this was misguided. Ple
Hi... below is the content of a post i made in the 'help with download manager" thread..."I don't think Adobe knows how to KISS. Whenever there's an between keeping something simple and effective or something complicated and non-fuctional, they choose the latter. Three basic things come to mind:1/ This download manager. It's a regular screw up. Once you've validated, why can't they just let the download carry on with this ridiculous manager of theirs?2/ The second is their installer. Don't know about CS4 for sure, but the amount of hassles people had. The forums are full of it (guess matters haven't improved with CS4)3/ This activation of theirs. From what i gather, the only guys *not* having a problem are those it was meant to stop! Yup the ones using pirated software.(I personally know of several people who gave up trying to get their legitimate multi-copy suites activated and just downloaded and got it working... )And now, the forums... the list however, is actually quite endless"
Ok, this is just to test e-mail postings. You can post whatever you want here for testing purposes ...
I think there is a good question deeply buried in this thread:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/435996?tstart=0Why is the question marked as Not Answered instead of Possibly Answered?
this is probaby the wrong place to be asking this question, but there's such a lack of information everywhere else. i am trying to download a trial and accidentally denied the akamai download manager installation applet. now i can't download files and don't know how to go back and approve it. why does adobe suck so much *^%$?
This is in the Photography forum:
I dug back about 10 pages and couldn't find the old one ...I like: the ability to post code without the forum trying to parse it. Attachments. The camera icon. That's it.

Since the Forum update of yesterday morning, I thought I'd give e-mail reading/responding of these fne Forums another go. Each e-mail is returned (very promptly I might add) with the following;Reporting-MTA: dns; mail.sgaur.hosted.jivesoftware.com X-Postfix-Queue-ID: CA9C02408205 X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; marathon.durandal@gmail.com Arrival-Date: Sun, 24 May 2009 06:54:33 -0600 (MDT) Final-Recipient: rfc822; clearspace-1503553350-74241-2-1985438@mail.forums.adobe.com Original-Recipient: +rfc822;clearspace-1503553350-74241-2-1985438@mail.forums.adobe.com Action: failed Status: 5.0.0 Remote-MTA: dns; 10.137.24.42 Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 553 <clearspace-1503553350-74241-2-1985438@mail.forums.adobe.com> address unknown. I'd suggest to add a separate section (subforum) for each (or most of) the software products, dealing exclusively with issues pertaining to installation/deinstallation/activation/deactivation/installing 64bit version on.../using product with ... graphics card/etc.etc...For example, since the launch of Photoshop CS4, the main Photoshop forum section has been cluttered with installation/activation issues to a point, where other issues go unnoticed and people lose interest in the forum. During the last days, I've read at least 2 comments in the Photoshop section, that they have decided to stop using the forum for exactly this reason.I'd have to look, but I can surely retrieve these comments, if need be ...kind regards.
So I just got CS4 Master Collection from my company, and am trying to install it on my mac. I have previously installed the Flash and Fireworks trials, which have since expired. Now when I run the Master Collection installation, it won't let me install Flash or Fireworks. When I run a full install they aren't included, and when I try a custom install it won't let me check them. I've deleted the trials, and the obvious files associated with them. What can I do?
Seriously, do points matter? Do you want them? Why if so, why, if not? Are points any good? Do points make you feel more secure? Are points pointed and sharp or are they blunt and blunted? Do points encourage you to answer questions or do they discourage you?Points are not a line... but connecting two pints makes a line... So do points awarded in an answer draw aline and stop all further discussion?I've been following threads in DW General and AI General. I notice that threads, by and large, stop far sooner than they would have. I put that down to the lack of participants for various reasons and the 'Correct' answer flag. So much knowledge and information is not being shared.True, a lot of the posts came from the NNTP side... but a lot also came from the web side... these forums are killing all spontaniety. However, the killers are:1/ Lack of NNTP2/ Points3/ Correct answers
Hello!I jumped the gun and marked my question here in the forums http://forums.adobe.com/thread/436424?tstart=0 as Answered but then I discovered that what I thought was working to resolve my problem was not. So now I need to change the marking from Answered to Not Answered or Unanswered. How do I do this?Thank you!Diane Dennis
Anyone who visits the Color Management forum is very likely to be aware of the contributions of Prof. Dr. Gernot Hoffman, a color scientist at a leading German university.Though we have lost many other valuable contributors, reading his post today has deeply saddened me.I'm just quoting the relevant lines at the end of a lengthy and highly technical discussion:… The ProPhotoRGB file, loaded by Photoshop, echoes the correctLab values - within 1 unit accuracy, despite only 8 bpc numericalresolution. If somebody wants to continue the discussion: I'm asking politelyfor a direct personal post viaMyFamilyName-with2n@fho-emden.debecause I don't like the new forum style.Best regards --Gernot Hoffmannhttp://forums.adobe.com/message/1984507#1984507
Because this interface is unacceptable.......I left the high school prom years ago and refuse to go back.
In private messages, I'd like a one-click way to add someone to my address book.
unusable for me today. between 404 errors and waiting for stats.adobe.com and wwwimages.adobe.com and the posting box never appearing when i go to place a response to something. i think i've made like 2 posts today. i'm not willing to wait 2-5 MINUTES for things to finish downloading or to hit reload then reload again (at 30 secs a pop) to clear out 404 errors.guys, THIS IS THE ONLY SITE I VISIT THAT BEHAVES LIKE THIS!!!we're months into this cr*p experiment. don't you have a lemon clause in your jive contract? i suggest you exercise it and go back to web crossing.i'm actually shocked i was able to get the posting box to appear for this. i'm going to copy and save this message out to notepad before posting because i fully expect to be logged out when i hit the post button.
If it is the right place, could I suggest that the select forum combobox should appear in every web page from the forums and not only on the Forums Home Page, it requires too many clicks to change from a forum to another. Thanks
Will the forums ever remember a login for more than a day or is this a foolish dream?
I have a very large database made in Microsoft Access. I was wanting to put my database on dreamweaver. I have quite a few other programs with Adobe that I can use. I do NOT want to use Acrobat because I want an interactive database available on the internet. I was also curious if there is a way to make it so the person viewing the database does not have to have Access installed as a program.Any help would be GREATLY appritiated!!!!!Thanks!Amber
I know there's a formula, but this still isn't making sense - the 'most popular' in Dreamweaver does have 92 posts, but the most recent is from April 11, and it's just recently risen to the top. I still don't see the point of this feature. I suppose it might have been read a lot lately - it's about how rubbish these forums are.If a post appears in 'more like this' I suppose people might go and read it who wouldn't have, which makes it more 'popular' - all very incestuous.
Since the switch this forum seems to have the most activity. The other forums are practically dead since the switch. Is this really what Adobe wanted?
Hello!I selected "Stop notifications" but I still receive the notifications of the Forum. How can I stop it? I do not want to receive forum notifications all the time.ThxVerena
