Until all the problems with email replies are fixed, could you remove "reply to this email (recommended)" from the bottom of emails sent to thread participants? That is, instead of:To post a reply to the thread message, either reply to this email (recommended) or visit the message page:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1969187#1969187have it read:To post a reply to the thread message, visit the message page:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1969187#1969187This will cut down on the number of times that we have to ask people to post their replies on the Web because the forum software is mangling their email replies. As a side effect, when we tell them to use the camera icon rather than attachments, they'll be more likely to know what we're talking about.Recommending that people use a buggy feature is causing needless trouble.
Yes, I know, rehashing, but it feels as though this request is being lost in the fog. In the test forums it was identified as the biggest failing of these forums. We are not alone in wanting this, it's being discussed in the features requests on Jive - last post on this page: http://www.jivesoftware.com/jivespace/thread/42028
Can Adobe make it more frequent, similar to the frequency that e-mail updates go out ? Thanks.Getting the postings far too late in the posting cycle.
...do you have the stones to reveal yourself, and your motivation for removing the "Three Cheers for the Wenches" thread? And why you allowed the "Three Cheers for the Wrenches" thread to remain?I got figh dollah says you don't. Or even if you do, that your reasoning is sound.
I'm referencing the Widgets Query in the FAQs of this forum:http://forums.adobe.com/message/1963810?tstart=0#1963810 Do widgets like "more like this" and "popular discussions" and "top participants" exact any performance hit when they are being figured out and displayed? Reply from Jive Software
Finally I Was able to get CS3 Master suite installed . all of it.by just doing it one to two programs at a time. ( or a complete suite) which worked perfectly.after months of playing around with this program which was poorly designed as a suite for total installation.the installer always would hang up, or if it did complete it would install a shell of the program but not the program.so one day i decided to go into the cs3 setup folder and unchecked all the boxes and just installed one at a time. if they were the same suite i would jus do the complete suite. and this process worked perfectly.the licensing went off with out a hitch as each program asks for the license which is called for at the beginig of installation. so far each component works perfectly..I just wish Adobe would get its developers together and design an install program that will install with out problems. just like i hear the business one does.hope this helps..insert DVD.do not choose install. choose
Oh! points encourage people.
The forum software evidently believes "bucket" is a dirty word, as in "Photoshop Elements' Paint Bucket tool". (B u c k e t). See this thread:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/434983?tstart=0
There have been a lot of posts in the thread, "Is the "point system" here helpful at all?" The general consensus seems to be negative. Apart from that particular thread, there have been numerous references to the sheer a$$inity of the point system as well as the "Correct" answer mis-feature.So, how do we go about getting Adobe to remove these half-a$$ed Jive ACE features? I have a few suggestions:1/ Draw up a list of forums and flood them with inane questions to which we award answers on a random basis2/ Approach John C and Kanguyen with reasoned arguments – an effort doomed to failure as the 'powers that be' are so narcissusly taken with this brainwave – sorry, brain-aberration – of theirs that they will refuse to see logic3/ Flame all good posters who, through no fault of their own get points – (though, i suspect some of them get a kind of vicarious pleasure) – till they run screaming to the Adobe Panjandrums to revoke these features, This effort is doubtful but workable if persons o
Today I noticed that my email address is no longer hidden. When you hover over my name it shows the email address and then says "Private hidden from all users".It is also visible in the Profile. It was not this way 2 days ago, and I have made no changes. What gives?
Hello,I've written a 110 page book that has 50 one minute flash videos to go with it. I would like to make an e-book with the flash content and sell it over the internet. I would like to put DRM security on it. Could someone suggest what adobe product I should buy to do this? Thanks in advance,Kidd
The index page looks fine in Preview but broken up in Layout. I tried the Import feature, and dragging the folders and files that came with the template into a new site. No luck. THANKS
Lets abuse the system so we can get rid of this stupid answer star system.
Could this dumb Jive point system possibly be responsible for being asked to create a new thread (before you're actually assisted), or are points just post-based? (instead of continuing an older, perfectly relevant thread that was "answered"--the solution offered in the answer didn't work for the same problem presented) Why does "marking a thread as a question encourage people to answer"....oh....it says for points right above..... Yeah is that helpful? Do we really want to get people into this "point competition" mindset? Bring back WebX! Jive Clearspace sucks! The whole point system is a little pointless, can't it be disabled? It doesn't really belong on a professional company's tech forum. (I marked this post as as a question! Who wants free points?! haha)
Just received this email from Kath H:Hello Ramón, sorry to intrude but I see you are posting in Forum Comments.Could you please let someone know that a number of us are currently unable to log in - we are stuck in a constant loop.Thank you.KathAnd another one:... my email notifications have also stopped.Kath
I had understood that the purpose of this forum was the same as in the old forums – to comment on the forums, their content and their shortcomings. To this end, when a comment, criticism or observation has been made that should suffice. There is no need for things to degenerate into petty squabbles. I must confess to a bit of levity now and then myself, but now I wish I'd kept things factual. The amount of superfluous chat going on here makes it worse than the "other place".How are those responsible for knocking this Jive thing into shape supposed to spot the legitimate comments among all the noise?
Hi,I wanted to know if anyone else had a similiar issue. I downloaded the pattern maker plug in from Adobe and when I go to install (drag and drop into the filter folder) into photoshop CS4 I get the following error message that, "Photoshop does not recongize this file type".Thx,Jamie
1/ Abolish the point system – it's meaningless2/ Abolish the "correct" answer – it's misleadingHowever, i do not have a problem with "helpful" answers – but there should be no points and there should be no limit to the number of 'helpful" answers.
Ha! Ha!...But not so simple... snappy answers get sluggish points! Losing examples: I'm a shark, i bark.Winning exaamples: ,,,,,,,,Get the drift? First three, i like, get the points
This is becoming a daily event for me.My work flow currently is something like this:1) At the beginning of my work day, I review my e-mails and RSS reader for new messages to the Forums I monitor. 2) I'll usually find a couple to whichI feel I can contribute support. 3) I'll click on a link to fire up a browsers for a reply, since the e-mail reply feature is too buggy for my taste and there is yet any other type of replacement for NTTP type interactions. 4) Since it is usually about 24 hours since I last logged into the Forums, I am usually still logged in. So I click a "Reply" link and bring up the form to post a message. 5) During the time I am composing the message my 24 hour login period expires. When done typing, I click the "Post Message" control and boom. I am told I can not post a message. That I must login again. Fine, I need to login again, but that message that I may have spent quite some effort composing is GONE! I can not click the back button
The index page looks fine in Preview but broken up in Layout. I have been back and forth with their T/S but it slow and unhelpful, plus the guy keeps saying everything looks fine on his Windoze machine. I have the latest iMac running Leopard.I tried the IMPORT feature, and also tried replacing the folders/files that a created with a new site in GoLive, with the files that came with the template.THANKS!
Big improvement!
I've tried several times to change my profile picture with no luck. Image is meeting all the specs. I go to upload the image and it sits for about 5 minutes before the pages moves, it then goes to my profile page and has no picture selected. Here's the pic specs:
Well the title sums it up.
when browsing topics NOT on page one, the back button which SHOULD take you back to the forum list on the page where you last were (hence the name "back" button) STILL takes you back to page one, effectivly making it near impossible to read things scrolled off the front page and navigate to the next item.jeez man, this is basic browser functionality!
