Adobe Media Encoder

Inside Premiere Pro C 2018 on my iMac PRO I would like to do the following:Create and add and Ingest Preset from the Project Settings Dialog box.  My understanding is I need to create this preset in ME and then import it into PR.My source files are CinemaDNG 5760x3240I want to create an Ingest Preset for PR that will allow me to convert the source files to 3840x2160 ProRes 422.  Essentially it's a large proxie to work with.Where I've been hitting a wall for the last 2-3 hours is I cannot find a way in ME to create anything ProRes.Hopefully I'm describing this correctly and I have definitely searched YouTube, Adobe and other sources top to bottom.  I'm not lazy... bleary eyed at the moment but not lazy.What am I missing other than experience with ME?  Answers or pointing me to a better resource would be appreciated very much.Thanks in advance!Robert

I have been using Media Encoder for years to encode mpeg2 720x480 (square and non-square) footage in.  All of a sudden it doesnt correctly identify the aspect ratio.  It says the source is 540x480.  I have tried to Interpret footage to change it, but it doesnt accept the new change.  It's cropping the video because it thinks its 540 instead of 720 so I'm losing about a third of the field.  Is this a new bug that it doesnt understand mpeg2 video anymore?  I'll add that these are.mpg extensions as well.

Having a terrible time getting the right output from AME. I need to send a client 3840 x 2160 for a BrightSign player and every time I pick that resolution, which matches the input sent to AME (from AE or PP), I get a file that says resolution 3840 x 2176 display resolution 3840 x 2160 when I view it in FLC and the client says it will not play on his player.This is a major urgent scenario and any help would be appreciated. Happening with uncompressed  input file right from drive, Dynamic Link from AE to PP or directly in PP.Help!

This hasn't been a problem until ME & Premiere CC 2018, but rendering anything in H264, even with recommended presets for YouTube, Facebook, etc. is taking astronomically longer than before. Even when using almost all of my 16 GB of RAM, I've got an 8 hour render time on one video estimated at about 700 MB. Previously this would have taken maybe 1.5-2 hours max. I've got software that automatically dumps my caches and clears up RAM when needed, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on Media Encoder or Adobe.Anyone have a work around other than encoding in Quicktime?System:   Model Name: MacBook Pro  Processor Name: Intel Core i7  Processor Speed: 2.2 GHz  Number of Processors: 1  Total Number of Cores: 4  L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB  L3 Cache: 6 MB  Memory: 16 GB 

I put all my exports into the same folder and then separate them out later. Is there a way to set AME up so that I can have that folder be a default?Or do I have navigate to the folder via Output File interface for each preset? That seems like a bunch of unnecessary steps. If I have, say, 10 items in the queue, is there any way to quickly assign all 10 to the same folder?Thanks for your assistance.I'm using the latest CC2018 version, on a Mac.Steve Goldberg

So I know that there are (or maybe now its "used to be") royalty fees for using the h.265 codec.  Is it okay to use the h.265 codec, or will I get sued/slapped a fine for using it to compress for the web/youtube?

I recently updated to the latest version of CC.  I have been using Adobe Media Encoder for years to export to h.264 Blu-Ray in a transport stream format.  When you select transport stream.  The only audio choice is Dolby Digital.  Since the 2018 CC update it appears Adobe has decided to take the Dolby Digital feature away and no longer allow this preset to work.  This is very frustrating.  When you attempt to use it you get the following error:it appears that you must now purchase the Dolby Codec separately.  First, shame on you Adobe for sneaking this in.My question is this:Is there any way to chose a different Audio Codec for Transport Stream?  Or does h.264 only support Dolby Digital?   I had thought in the past it supported AAC.  Does anybody have a workaround for this?

Noticed something very strange when using Media Encoder to encode AS-11 DPP files - we select the four audio channels option and encode but the encoded MXF files audio is then turned from dual stereo to four mono tracks.This is not compatible with UK DPP delivery as we are required to deliver stereo tracks.Any ideas here? Our files have been rejected by the BBC as non compliant on the audio front.Patricia

I am a 100% newbie, and I need to put music on a picture (any resolution, for example 1868 x 2802) -->to transform it into a video to be able to post it on instagram.I have no idea how to do it. After i make the project when i render i know only how ot make it standard resolution like 1920x1080, 1600x900 etc and most of the time i will have black background around the picture becouse ...it doesn't fit the rendering resolutin. Please help me.

HI Everyone....I am exporting a file at h.264 to mpeg, but need the screen size to still be 1920x1080. Does anyone know how to create a custom setting like that in Media Encoder?I chatted w/ Adobe and they said there was no way to customize the mpeg 4 settings, even though there is a "custom" option on that setting.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,I am trying to export comps from After Effects to Media Encoder and when I tell it to start I get this error:[/ame11.1.2/ame/releases/2017.03/shared/adobe/MediaCore/VideoFrame/Src/VideoFrameFactory.cpp-115]I have been using Media Encoder for months and it has been fine until yesterday afternoon. I render out some big odd sized files as I work with stadium LEDs and i get the error when trying to render an LED file (ex: 13500 x 64)but I don't get the error with 1920 x 1080 footage.Is there a solution for this?I am using Adobe CC 2018 for both on a Mac Pro(Late 2013) macOS Sierra 10.12.6Thank You,Jeff

I am exporting some finished files that are in ProRes format on a Windows 10 PC using the latest version of Media Encoder CC (12.0.1). I am NOT trying to export to ProRes, just H.264, WMV, and MPEG-2. And no software updates between yesterday and today. Tried restarting several times. Encoder recognized the files yesterday and exported them successfully. Today, it would not recognize the ProRes files. I even tried to drop the same source files in from yesterday - but it would not recognize them. I am able to play the files in Premiere and export using Encoder from there, but it will not let me Queue the file for batch processing. I am making 5 versions of each file. Has anyone else experienced this? I am asking around before I try to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for reading, Craig Service

Adobe Media Encoder, After Effects and Premiere can't use all cores of processor (developers lives in 1990 may be..). I often have a lot of media files render. Can I start 10 copy of Media Encoder or After Effects? Did it somebody? Thank you

Hello, I work for a television station and I'm the only editor with a Mac. We all have the same preset installed to encode to an mxf format that we broadcast. When Master Control loads my mxf files into our transcoder they get an error message that reads "EVS MXF Source." We have checked, and double checked my encoding presets and they are exactly the same as every other editor using Premiere Pro and Media Encoder on their Windows machines.Can someone help me figure out why my files are the only ones reading as an EVS MXF?Here is what I'm working with:Equipment: 2013 Mac Pro, 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5 with 35 GB of ram and a AMD FirePro D300 graphics card.Our Broadcast Format:Video: MXF OP1a, Video Codec XDCAMHD 35 NTSC, 1,440 x 1080, frame rate of 29.97 with Upper First, aspect: HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333)Audio: Uncompressed, 4 channel audio, 16 bit, sample rate of 48000.

I have added my own images to this free Rocketstock by Shutterstock template:Fast Flip: Free After Effects Logo Reveal TemplateIt plays fine in After Effects. I can render it in the render queue inside AE. (It looks pixelated, though.) but when I try to export it with AME, it won't render. I have attached images of what I have tried to export according to the directions provided (also attached). 

Hey!I have music video(music + still image, no transition) for youtube.I made it in after effect. Send it to AME and render it with settings in image below.I set bitrate to 50 mbps in CBR or VBR(2-pass)  but exported video has only 10-15 mbps. I try different background images but i can't get over 10-15 mbps bitrate. Hello.I made a simple test. I took a footage 1280*720, placed it in Premiere project, changed scale to 300% and rendered it 3840*2160 through Media Encoder. My GTX 1060 was loaded 30%. Video engine load 0%. Then I did the same in After Effects. GPU load was 0%, Video engine load 0%, time of rendering 2 times higher. What is the problem? Adobe software 2018, windows 10 64, latest drivers, have no IQSV in my CPU. Cuda was enabled in AE, PP and ME.

When trying to import or even export something from AE or Premiere it does not appear to be rendered in the Media Encoder, I use the last update and I have this error! What to do?

In AME, I am trying to convert my MP4 animation into a quicktime MOV so that it is compatible with my Toon Boom software. However, whenever I try to do so, the rendered video is just black but with audio. The preview before and while rendering shows the video perfectly, but the final result is just black! PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Hi - AME (and AE actually) have been giving me problems since the latest updates. AME will not load past 'ImporterRED.prm' Any ideas or similar problems I would love to hear some solutions. No problems before. Nothing else has changed on my system.Windows 10 / 64 bit.CheersDave

Hello,ist really urgent. Need to be finish a project in a couple of hours , it will be shown live soon.I realize that the rendering takes to long, (+100 Clips) so I wonder if its possible to export my queue from the media encoder to another PC to render there as well, without open the project there and send everything again to the media encoder to the new PC.Would be great just to open that queue on the other PC. Sure I would copy all footage to that pc as well. I try to avoid to open that project there as well and send "all" comps again to the media encoder there.Thanks!EDIT: OK, looks that all files in the AME Folder (*aep) so I copy them all now inkl. all projects files to a new PC, hope that works! That will take some time, if Im wrong and you have a better solution please let me know.

Since upgrading to Media Encoder CC 2018 a few days ago I am having major problems rendering files I could render perfectly before the upgrade. These are simple compositions created in After Effects (also upgraded at the same time). They are only 10 to 15 seconds long, use no plugins or special effects. Before upgrading they would render from Media Encoder in a matter of seconds / minutes, and the rendering would start immediately. Since upgrading they frequently take 5 minutes to begin rendering, often complete but with errors, and more often than not I get a 'Cannot read from source' error, or Media Encoder just hangs and nothing happens. The files work fine and play perfectly in After Effects, and will render with no issues or errors from there. Prior to updating the software a few days ago I never had this issue.Changing the renderer - Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) / (Metal) / Software only - makes no difference.I'm using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014

Just since yesterday, sequences I'm exporting from Premiere Pro CC using the queue aren't appearing in Media Encoder. Both apps are updated to the most recent versions - 2017.1.2 - and I'm running OS 10.10.5 on my iMac.I've been able to successfully export a single sequence, but not able to export to the queue. !That's a problem, since I've got a dozen short videos to turn around quickly.Anything I might be missing?
