why doesn't media encoder work for me? I updated the graphics card drivers, I didn't use damaged files on After Effects, but when I go to export a video with media encoder either the download stops and doesn't continue or it downloads to me but everything is buggy
I'm using the latest version of Media Encoder. Windows 11 Hi there, when I'm exporting my project, it will export around a little bit of the project and then it will either crash or stay stuck on one frame and not move. I've tried this multiple times and it still doesn't work, I'm unsure what the issue is here. It causes my PC and ME to crash. RTX 4080, i7 14700, 32gb ram (19gb allocated for ME)
when i unchecked "increment output file name if file with same name exist" i have error (Encode failed because the file can't be overwritten) and i give media encoder all perm and still have the same problemEncode failed because the file D:\PROJECTS\ABDO\2\15\HEALTHY\FINALS\REEL.mp4 can't be overwritten.- Source File: - Output File: - Preset Used: 12- Video: 1080x1920 (1.0), 29.97 fps, Upper, 203 (75% HLG, 58% PQ), Software Encoding, 00:00:10:08- Audio: AAC, 320 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo- Bitrate: VBR, 1 pass, Target 12.00 Mbps, Max 23.80 Mbps- Encoding Time: 00:00:0002/15/2024 07:58:05 PM : Encoding Failed
1 picture: 1. you can see that the channel with video is on (FREE GUY SA TR TD) 2. you can see that the channel with graphics is on (TV PREMIER). 3. it is clear on the screen that both are turned on.After that, I press File/Export/Media Encoder in After and Media Encoder opens 2 pictures: 1. in Encoder you can see that there is no video (FREE GUY SA TR TD) while the graphic (TV PREMIERE) is visible, although you can see in the upper left corner that the video (FREE GUY SA TR TD) should be there. 3 pictures: 1. Media Encoder reports that the video is missing (FREE GUY SA TR TD). 4 pictures: 1. Don't dump the video (report Fail) I also attached the Error log, so there you go. Just a note, when I export/export video from Premier Pro via Media Encoder, everything works normally. In a short way, between After Effects and Media Encoder, something is wrong."
Today I wanted to export my video from Premiere Pro 24.4.0 to Media Encoder 24.4. The project is send to ME and appears in the projects list. However when I click the start button nothing happens. I thought it might be a problem with the latest version of ME and thus went back to 24.3. However same problem here. So I also went back to Premiere Pro 24.3.0. I opened a project which I recently successfully rendered with ME 24.3 and did send it to ME. But again - when clicking the start button nothing happens.Obviousely something has changed. Any hints? I am working on a PC under Windows 11
Hello, I'm still having trouble getting X/Twitter to authorize my login in AME and publishing from the app. Any updates on a fix for this. Tik Tok is working fine.
When I import Footage in Premiere with a Slog color space I usually get a color space over ride that I go change the interpretation in Premiere. For color correction purpossus later. Then when I decide to create proxies for my offline work, it creates a proxy with the Slog over ride that was originally there. What the F? Now when I change from proxy to FullRes it shifts the colors. The only way I found that works is to create a proxy directly in Media encoder THEN import the Full res in Premiere THEN attach the proxies THEN interprate the color space. Is there a way to fix that thing with the proxy presets? Thanks JP
Many formats have the option to choose between joint stereo channels or separate mono tracks. For broadcast, separate mono tracks are often required. When choosing the XDCAM codec this option is greyed out in AME. The tooltip on mouse hover just says what the option normally *would* do, but not *why it's greyed out*. To make matters worse: depending on which preset you're coming from it is either shown as checked or unchecked whilst still greyed out either way, making it seem as if it's not active in some cases and not even possible to activate, because it's greyed out. Took me quite a bit to realize with this codec the option is *always active* despite being greyed out and sometimes incorrectly shown as unchecked. Further adding to the confusion: Premiere is interpreting the files we exported automatically as one stereo track by default. For practical purposes that would be fine– IF it didn't lead us editors to believe we weren't exporting separate mono trac

When I send sequences from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder, I cannot modify any settings to the sequence once they are in Media Encoder. The dropdowns for different codecs appear but when I select the different codec nothing changes. The workaround is to delete the sequence and return to Premiere to make the changes and send it back to Media Encoder. This also happens when I duplicate a job and want to add another output. Am I doing something wrong? I get as the output file this: Thank you

Since exporting a video sometimes takes a long time I don't always have the time to wait for it to finish. Suddenly I have a meeting, forget the ongoing export, close the laptop, and the whole export fails. I have to start all over again. Would it be possible for the enocoder to recognize when the laptop lid closes and pause the export? Thanks,ThomasMacbook Pro user
Have been using ME reliably on a 2015 iMac running Mojave. Today I get this error when opening progaram...have reinsatalled ME and then Creative Cloud, still not resolved. This is the only program affected.
I am trying to export a small portion of an AE composition as a thin video with a dimention of 60x2160 px. Using the crop panel in the export settings it's easy enough to set the dimensions and do the same to the video settings. However, the exported video file has a size of 64x2160px. If I go back into ME and double-check the export settings before starting the queue, the right side under the Video section now shows the video dimentions as 64x2160. The video exports at the correct dimensions using other formats like H.264 or Quicktime, but the dimensions won't stay where I've set them using HEVC. I can't seem to find any sort of minimum size limitations for HEVC, so I'm wondering if this is a bug.
Hi,I was wondering was did this option do in the mxf options ? I dont find any docs about this online. Does it transcode VBI or ANC data to something ... like VBI line 21 caption on SD material to ANC caption data ? I just want to know whats this option doing and in witch case you would want to check this box. Thanks.
As a sort of follow up to my last question, I am trying to run an AME script from After Effects. I'm able to succesfully do this by constructing my command, writing it to a file, and running 'system.callSystem();' Something like this: var cmd = '"/Path/To/AME" --console es.processFile "/Path/To/TMP/File"'; var result = system.callSystem(cmd); This works successfully but only if AME is closed when the script is run and provided that I close AME again ('app.exit()') at the end of my script. If AME is open when the script is run I get several errors (which I'll paste below) and if I don't exit the app at the end of my script, then After Effects hangs (or my terminal window if I run it directly) indefinitely. Does anyone know how I can sort out this issue so that I can run the script even if AME is already open and leave it open after the script is finished processing? Thank you! Adam ps here are the error messages I'm getting:&
Updated to the latest After Effects yesterday and now when I try to use AME to render AE comps all my footage is color bars. The renders work fine from the AE render queue, but I can't work on AE while it's rendering....
Hi, I have these EXR frames coming from 3D software; the background is regular Sky skylighting with no map or texture. When processing all the frames with Media encoder, it will remove the background (Sky), and it will show it as black; the whole background is black.I know in After Effect you can choose how to export the background, but I don't see any option in media encoder, I already tried Proress 444, H.264 and DNXthank you.
I'm using Media Encoder ver: 24.4.1 but I've updated it multiple times since installing the 24 version and the issue persists. I'm on the Windows 10 OS. The encoder gets stuck every time I don't use my PC for about 5 to 10 minutes. That has been happening for months now, regardless of the project. If a project requires more than 5-10 minutes to render, and I'm not doing something on my PC while it's rendering, it's getting stuck every time. Then I need to restart my computer to be able to render again. That's very annoying as I can't go idle from the computer as long as rendering is in process which is very inconvenient. I've never encountered this problem on other computers. Anyone with the same issue. Have any idea about the problem?
Whenever I export a video to a certain disk - a 480gb SSD - it gets 24 bytes in size and corrupted. This happens regardless of the folder I export. But when I do the rendering to another disk, I cut the file and paste it in this mentioned 480 SSD, it works normally. I have already cleaned the disk and I have already verified that there is no instability in the SSD, but I would like to know why this problem only occurs with this disk.
Why is it that when I render video (both Premiere Pro and ME) it mostly uses the CPU to render when before it was still rendering using the GPU? I have looked very carefully but it still doesn't work. Although the time issue is just a minor problem, the main problem is that when using CPU to render, the video has very low fps (E.g.: I set the setting to 1080p 60fps but the result is result is only 20fps 720p)And because my English is very bad, please forgive me if there are any mistakes
Sometimes a source video has 48.000 hz audio. Exporting to MP3 from Media Encoder gives some options (like changing the kbps say from 256 to 128) but not to change the sample rate, these are not the same thing. The resulting MP3 ends up with whatever sample rate the source had, this is fine but it gives compatibility issues with some applications like Adobe Animate which do not accept 48.000 hz audio. Web content in many instances is also limited to 44.100 hz max. Either let us choose the sample rate ourselves or cap it to 44.100 hz for this specific format.
