Adobe Media Encoder

I bought a second Mac Pro, just to be able to process my videos while I am still editing on the other computer. However, I have to subscribe and unsubscribe from a SECOND CC account just to do that one thing during larger productions. Please allow a second machine to operate Media Encoder simultaneously.🙂 

I find that I always have to run my videos, after exporting from Premier Pro (either with ME or the in-app export in PP) through Handbreak in order to reduce them to a size that's more conducive to the Internet.  I know you can reduce bit rates and such, but it would be a better workflow to have a "Handbrake-like" option within Media Encoder (and Premier Pro).  If they can do it, why can't Adobe?

Hello friends, I use the media encoder daily and very frequently. We exported several sequences from the premiere in queue and the suggestion is that it would be possible to add a feature to save the queue and its settings such as format, preset and output file. Because a single project is used for each client with multiple sequences in it, we render the sequences in different formats for different outputs, and this feature would be very nice. Every time the queue completes and we reopen the Media Encoder it is necessary to import the project and select the sequentially define the format of each one, preset and output. Thanks in advance! 

I would like to be able to have Adobe Media Encoder put the temporary files during encoding in a specific directory, and the final result in another. (In my case I render into my Google Drive folder, but it keeps syncing the temp files too with no way to disable that). Perhaps one way it could be implemented that others might find useful is to add a "local directory" option to the preset publish tab. There's already one for "Adobe Creative Cloud" that even references a local folder, so perhaps you could add an option that lets you choose an arbitrary location? I have to imagine this ability would be useful in general, such as for people who may want to back up a copy to NAS drives or something. Perhaps you could even allow a list of directories to which copies of the file will be sent.

Premier pro and 3rd party applications like capcut have where you can adjust the lighting. I want to be able to adjust lighting in multiple clips. Right now the only thing close is tone mapping and sdr conform. Are there any other features you can provide that can enhance the lighting adjustments?

The encoder looks very good when I did a test encode to BluRay and was fast!  There really needs to be a way to enter time code based chapter points to be taken more seriously.  i.e. if you have a movie file that starts at time code 01:00:00:00 > 02:00:00:00 and you need a specifi frame at 01:03:07:11, for example, there should be a way to enter that time code into a list and have the software force an i-frame on the specifi time code frame so that authoring software can place a legitimate chapter point at that frame.  Thanks!

Rendering with Davinci Resolve is a dream land for me... the same project renders in Davinci at least 5X the speed of ANY Adobe app and that's sad, cause I don't like using Resolve at all!

Hi,  Will it ever be possible to natively watch or deliver from Media Encoder to an AWS S3 bucket without the need for an additional 3rd party application.(This would so super useful and as great as the ability to output an srt stream from Premiere Pro which I was told in back in 2020 by Adobe would never happen and has just dropped in the October 23 release, soooo happy about that!)

I haven't seen this pop up, but it would be extremely helpful to be able to shift or control click the downward pointing arrow and have it close or collapse all of the open windows. Currently, I have to close them one at a time, and when batch exporting many files, its a total mess and takes some time to close everything. I've been looking for this simple, yet really important update for years. I keep thinking its such a no-brainer that it would have been implemented by now.  Also, the ability to create a second que would help keep things organized nicely. Currently your compeditor EditReady has the ability to add additional windows/ques and its incredible. Thank you.Dan     

When converting a mp4 file to a mpeg2-dvd file for playing on a dvd player using Media Encoder, the dvd player would not recognize any playable material on the disc. Apparently Adobe no longer supports the ability to burn a dvd that is playable on a dvd player that connects to a tv. For a company marketing and selling video editing software, I think they should offer the ability to make a video playable on a dvd player.

If I were able to import and encode more audio formats and encode them to MP3 or WAV it would really speed up the workflow instead of having to rely on Audiotn for any sort of audio relatied thing. Shouldn't the supported audio formats in Audition also be in Media Encoder?

As I rarely use dynamic link because of numerous past bugs breaking it constantly, I was wondering why we can't drag and drop video files onto the Media Encoder app in the Mac dock and have it launch the app or add the items to the queue? Seems like a natural motion for this app to accomplish?

I feel like this forum gets even less traffic / respones from Adobe but nevertheless here we go:  ....One of my main gripes with AME is the mystery box of why Media Encoder works fine sometimes and other times it fails.I've have the following issues on an ongoing basis over the last 10 years of trying to use AME: encodes the file incorrectly with either:offline mediabroken fx licencing wrong AE comp being renderedweird audio sync glitches captions refusing to burn ingpu errorsEncodes a a much slower rate, which makes no sense if it is the same exact encoding engine. stops mid-encode etc.  Media Encoder has a funny setting where you can either: "encode sequences natively" Or use the PrProHeadless option which usually means a slower and longer project load as it loads full premiere in the BG minus the GUI. Requesting that Media Encoder be able to convert from and to the GXF format. This is a format used heavily in the media industry, specifically the broadcast industry, as the company "Grass Valley" leverages this as their native format. 

Sometimes we just need the text transcription of a clip. Is much easier opening Media Encoder, drag a clip, transcript and export as a text than opening Premiere create a project, create a sequence, transcript and export it as a text.

Some of the file conversion software I use have a small folder icon next to the file export info, where once your file finishes encoding, you can click that folder icon and it'll take you right to where your file just exported.  For people that have a lot of projects going at once and tons of folders and subfolders on their project drives, that's often a big time saver.  Or, when you accidentally export it to some default folder and then need to find the file...  Avoids having to go and navigate a bunch of subfolders once a file finishes exporting.  I'd add is as a column to the right of "Status".

I often use Media Encoder to cut down videos. Unfortunately though, because you can't play videos from inside Media Encoder, I often have to take them into Premiere first to ensure I've set the right in point. Media Encoder should have the option to play video files.

A lot of us work with ProRes RAW footage. It would be great if we could change the source settings of a large selection of clips and change their colorspace if they all match the same format. I always need to go in 1 by 1 and change them and is very time consuming

It's 2023.  Can we please get more social media presets for export than simply Facebook, Twitter (now X, that needs to be changed), YouTube, and Vimeo?  How about Instagram?  Tik Tok?  Etc?

I made the update from 23.2 to 23.6 and scrolling through settings is insanely slow now. It's not lagging or any sort of performance issue, it's just super slow to scroll through the settings. I just want to change settings fast and not train my scrolling finger 😄 Please change it back to the original scrolling speed.

A great way to help improve the application is by being able to batch edit the in/out point in the export settings window. You're able to batch edit the output file destination, you're able to batch edit the export settings themselves (format, preset, video/audio settings etc.) but for some reason when you try to batch edit the in/out point for various files at a time, only 1 file will change accordingly. I say we should keep it consistant. I've attached a screenshot of the export setting window I'm referring too. 

Windows users with Trend Micro Maximum Security repeatedly reported startup crashes that have been massively impacting AE and AME. We have managed to find a contact there, report the issue, and have now tested a fix they have pushed live into production.Their users should receive this as an auto-update.Any user hitting a Win startup crash in AE/AME should still verify if he user has TM Maximum Security installed, and if so, then instruct the user to:1, Open the application.2. Go to the hamburger-ish dropdown menu in the upper right and select "About This Software".3. This will initiate an update check.4. If the software updates, see if the crash on launch is resolved subsequently.5. If it is fully up to date, the crash is likely being caused by something else.Hope this helps.

I think it would be cool to have a creative app to go live, Adding this feauture to Me would be amazing I hope to see somthing there for us all so we can use this to go live on all our sites.

Hi,YouTube contains a lot of tutorials, where they are advised to interpret the interlaced video, and then encode it as a progressive one. Obviously, this deep misconception exists, since the ME does not contain any filter for deinterlacing. It is possible to add it long ago or allow the use of installed filters for the Premiere and AE in the encoder.Thanks

Media Encoder stopped an export two hours into rendering it because I installed a completely unrelated font. I was doing some graphic design work while letting media encoder do a final render of a video project, and then it just... stopped the encoding because I installed a font? This is ridiculous behavior - ME should give me the choice to let the render continue, because I didn't do any changes to the fonts that are actually used in the premiere project.This just wasted two hours of render time for absolutely no reason. This garbage would be fine if it weren't so expensive.
